MINUTES <br />CITY OF PLEASANTON <br />REGULAR CITY COUNCIL MEETING <br />May 6, 2008 <br />CALL TO ORDER <br />Mayor Hosterman called the meeting to order at 7:00 p.m. Councilmember McGovern led the <br />Pledge of Allegiance. <br />Introductory Comments: Councilmember McGovern announced the following: First <br />Wednesday Street Party, Wednesday, May 7th; Gingerbread Preschool is hosting a Brick <br />Fundraiser in anticipation of the new playground and parking lot that will be installed at the <br />center this summer; purple ribbons are all along Main Street in downtown Pleasanton in <br />observance of the American Cancer Society's Relay for Life event. <br />Roll Call <br />Present: Councilmembers McGovern, Sullivan, Thorne, Mayor Hosterman <br />Absent: Councilmember Cook-Kallio <br />AGENDA AMENDMENTS <br />City Manager Fialho reported Consent Calendar Item 10 is continued to May 20, 2008 and <br />Closed Session discussion regarding acquisition of the Downtown Alameda Transportation <br />Corridor is postponed to a future date. <br />Councilmember McGovern referred to Item 5 conditions of approval and asked if structures <br />have been approved. City Manager Fialho said accessory structures were conditionally <br />approved subject to design review by the Planning Commission and staff will capture this in <br />conditions of approval and return on May 24, 2008. <br />Councilmember McGovern referred to Item 2, the Home Consortium Funding and confirmed <br />that this could be programmed to 2006/2007 Kottinger Place Redevelopment Project. <br />Concerning Item 7 she asked that a tot lot be provided at Kottinger Community Park. City <br />Manager Fialho said if the play structure could not be located on site, the developer would make <br />a financial contribution for a tot lot at the Kottinger Community Park. <br />CONSENT CALENDAR <br />Vice Mayor Thorne referred to Item 4 and confirmed that the business license tax was <br />consistent with other cities around Pleasanton. He said he would be abstaining on Item 1. <br />Administrative Services <br />Approved regular and special meeting minutes of April 15, 2008 (Thorne abstained) <br />City Manager <br />2. Adopted Resolution No. 08-187 approving the renewal of three-year cooperative <br />agreement with Alameda County for Pleasanton's participation in the Alameda County <br />HOME Consortium for receiving federal HOME Investment Partnership Program funds <br />
