ATTACHMENT 4 <br />RESOLUTION NO. 08- <br />A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PLEASANTON, <br />ESTABLISHING BAY-FRIENDLY LANDSCAPING REQUIREMENTS FOR CITY <br />FUNDED PROJECTS, INCLUDING TRADITIONAL PUBLIC WORKS PROJECTS, <br />AND PUBLIC PRIVATE PARTNERSHIPS <br />WHEREAS, the Alameda County Waste Management Authority has adopted guidelines <br />for the use of Waste Import Mitigation funding which encourage the use of its Bay-Friendly <br />Landscape Guidelines program; and <br />WHEREAS, the use of the Bay-Friendly Landscape Guidelines can have a significant <br />positive effect on energy consumption, water and resource efficiency, and wildlife habitat and <br />may result in significant cost savings over time; and <br />WHEREAS, the Alameda County Waste Management Authority has agreed to invite the <br />City to participate with any future Authority process conducted to revise the Bay-Friendly <br />Guidelines, and <br />WHEREAS, requiring City projects and public-private partnerships to incorporate the <br />Bay Friendly Guidelines is appropriate for achieving its benefits. <br />NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED THAT THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF <br />PLEASANTON DOES RESOLVE, DECLARE, DETERMINE AND ORDER THE FOLLOWING: <br />SECTION 1. Adopt the Bay-Friendly Landscape requirements (Exhibit A) as a means <br />of incorporating the Alameda County Waste Management Authority Bay Friendly Landscape <br />Guidelines with City landscape projects. <br />SECTION 2.
