PLANNING COMMISSION CITY OF PLEASANTON ALAMEDA COUNTY, CALIFORNIA RESOLUTION NO. PC-88-O1 RESOLUTION RECOMMENDING APPROVAL OF RECYCLING PROCEDURES FOR THE CITY OF PLEASANTON AS FILED UNDER CASE RZ-87-10 WHEREAS, the City of Pleasanton has applied to amend the Municipal Code to establish regulations and procedures pertaining to recycling facilities and related matters; and WHEREAS, The Beverage Container Recycling and Litter Reduction Act, known as Assembly Bill (AB) 2020, was passed in 1986 by the State Assembly; and WHEREAS, the purpose of the bill is to establish a system to promote the recyling and reuse of beverage containers sold in the State of California. As part of the new system many new recycling facilities will be required in cities throughout the state; and WHEREAS, since the City of Pleasanton Municipal Code does not currently provide directly for regulation of recycling facilities, the proposed zoning ordinance amendment was submitted for review and recommendation to the Planning Commission; and WHEREAS, at their duly noticed public hearing of January 13, 1988, the Planning Commission considered all public testimony, relevant exhibits and recommendation of the City staff concerning this proposed zoning ordinance amendment; and WHEREAS, projects of this nature are exempt from CEQA. NOW, THEREFORE, THE PLANNING RESOLVES AS FOLLOWS: OF THE CITY OF PLEASANTON Section 1. Recommends approval of the draft ordinance attached hereto (Exhibit A) and made part of this case by reference. Section 2. This resolutigr shall become effective immediately upon its passage and adoption.
