MINUTES <br />CITY OF PLEASANTON <br />CITY COUNCIL MEETING <br />September 4, 2007 <br />CALL TO ORDER <br />Mayor Hosterman called the meeting to order at 7:00 p.m. Councilmember Sullivan led the <br />Pledge of Allegiance. <br />Introductory Comments <br />Councilmember Sullivan gave the following introductory comments: September 5"' is the final <br />First Wednesday Street Party; September 8"', the Ballistic United Soccer Club will hold its <br />annual parade on Main Street; September 15`h, Congressmembers McNerney and Stark will <br />hold a Joint Town Hall Meeting in Pleasanton at the Council. <br />Councilmember Sullivan asked to observe a minute of silence in support of servicemen, <br />servicewomen and citizens in Iraq and Afghanistan who have died. <br />6:00 p.m. Closed Session Report <br />Conference with Legal Counsel -Potential Litigation, pursuant to Government Code§54956.9(b): <br />• Potential legal challenge by Vulcan Materials concerning proposed amendments to the <br />Stoneridge Drive Specific Plan (Staples Ranch Project) as those amendments relate to the <br />proposed construction of improvements to EI Charro Road, the EI Charro Interchange and <br />providing continued access from Vulcan's property to I-580. <br />• Potential legal challenge by the City of Livermore concerning proposed amendments to the <br />Stoneridge Drive Specific Plan EIR (Staples Ranch Project) as those amendments relate to <br />the extension of Stoneridge Drive and the EIR's traffic analysis concerning the proposed <br />developments. <br />City Attorney Michael Roush said there was nothing to report out from 6:00 p.m. Closed <br />Session. <br />Roll Call <br />Present: Councilmembers Cook-Kallio, McGovern, Sullivan, Thome, Mayor Hosterman <br />Absent: None <br />AGENDA AMENDMENTS <br />Councilmember McGovern requested hearing and receiving public comment on Item 17 and <br />continuing it. City Manager Fialho suggested, and the Council agreed, for the item to be heard <br />and then continued to the October 2, 2007 meeting. <br />Mayor Hosterman referred to Item 15 and requested it be heard some time in the future prior to <br />November 2008. She noted Item 19 was removed from the agenda and would be heard at the <br />next regular meeting and requested Items 16 and 18 be heard prior to Item 17. <br />Councilmember McGovern confirmed Items 12 and 13 would be continued to a future meeting. <br />She referred to Item 2 and said Pleasanton Golf looks as though it was in a negative balance <br />
