<br />MINUTES <br />OF THE <br />MEETING <br />OF THE <br />PLEASANTON CITY COUNCIL <br /> <br />May 2, 2006 <br /> <br />6:15 P.M. RECEPTION FOR NEWLY APPOINTED AND RETIRING COMMISSION AND <br />COMMITTEE MEMBERS <br /> <br />1. CALL TO ORDER <br /> <br />Mayor Hosterman called the regular meeting of the City Council to order at 7:01 p.m. <br />Council member Brozosky led the assembly in the pledge of allegiance. <br /> <br />Mr. Brozosky congratulated the Amador High School Civics Team for its national title. <br />He announced that the Pleasanton Downtown Association is hosting the first "First Wednesday" <br />beginning May 3 and the theme will be celebrating Cinco de Mayo. The Pleasanton Rotary <br />North is hosting a fundraiser titled "Puttin' on the Ritz" May 6 to benefit nonprofit agencies <br />serving the community. He also announced that the Valley Humane Society would be <br />sponsoring the Garden Tour on May 7. The Pleasanton Police Department invites the <br />community to an Open House on Saturday, May 13. <br /> <br />Mr. Brozosky also informed the community about the accident involving Livermore <br />Pleasanton Fire Department Captain Scott Walsh. <br /> <br />2. ROLL CALL <br /> <br />Interim City Clerk Jacquelyn Diaz called the roll, which was recorded as follows: <br />Councilmembers present were Steve Brozosky, Cindy McGovern, Matt Sullivan, Jerry Thorne, <br />and Mayor Hosterman. Staff members present were: Nelson Fialho, City Manager; Larissa <br />Seto, Assistant City Attorney; Lorie Tinfow, Director of Administrative Services; Rob Wilson, <br />Director of Public Works; David P. Culver, Finance Director; and Scott Deaver, Fire Marshall. <br /> <br />3.
