<br />MINUTES <br />OF THE <br />MEETING <br />OF THE <br />PLEASANTON CITY COUNCIL <br /> <br />January 17, 2006 <br /> <br />6:30 P.M. CLOSED SESSION <br /> <br />Conference with real property negotiator Nelson Fialho concerning proposed terms and <br />conditions for the City's acquisition of a portion of property on Happy Valley Road owned by the <br />TTK Partnership. <br /> <br />Conference with real property negotiator Nelson Fialho concerning the terms and <br />conditions of the City's potential acquisition of the community park and the right of way for the <br />Stone ridge Drive extension to be located within Staples Ranch. <br /> <br />1. CALL TO ORDER <br /> <br />Mayor Hosterman called the regular meeting of the City Council to order at 7:10 p.m. <br />Councilmember McGovern led the assembly in the pledge of allegiance. <br /> <br />Ms. McGovern reminded everyone that the Community Character trait for the month of <br />January was self-discipline. She announced a variety of rich and entertaining events occurring <br />in Pleasanton in the next few months which included: (1) the production of "Bye Bye Birdie" at <br />the Pleasanton Play House, January 20, 21, 22, 27, 28, and 29; (2) Truffles, Tidbits & Tasting, <br />offered by the Pleasanton Downtown Association, February 9 from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m.; (3) The <br />Senior Ball, a night of elegant dining and dancing to be held on February 3 at the Senior Center; <br />(4) Poet Laureate Cynthia Bryant and guest poet, Matt Miller will host a poetry reading at the <br />Century House on February 5 from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m.; (5) The Parent Project Program is offering <br />classes for parents of teenagers; classes are offered throu9h the Amador Valley Adult and <br />Community Education and the Pleasanton Police Department on Tuesdays from January 31 to <br />April 11; (6) applications are bein9 accepted for the 2006 session of the Citizens Police <br />Academy and classes cover a variety of topics from community policing to narcotic <br />investi9ations to crime prevention; classes to be held on Thursdays beginning March 9 through <br />June 15 from 6:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m.; and (7) Joint CounciVPlannin9 Commission General Plan <br />Workshop held on January 24 beginning at 6:30 p.m. to discuss citywide land use issues. <br /> <br />Pleasanton City Council <br />Minutes <br /> <br />1 <br /> <br />01/17/06 <br />
