MINUTES <br /> OF THE <br /> MEETING <br /> OF THE <br /> PLEASANTON CITY COUNCIL <br /> <br /> July 19, 2005 <br /> <br />1. CALL TO ORDER <br /> <br /> The regular meeting of the City Council was called to order by Mayor Hosterman at 7:04 <br />p.m. Mr. Sullivan led the assembly in the pledge of allegiance. <br /> <br /> Mr. Sullivan provided information related to a program offered by Grid Alternatives, a <br />nonprofit organization, who is providing a pilot energy-efficiency rehabilitation program to Iow- <br />income owners of below-market priced, deed-restricted homes in Pleasanton. GRID provides <br />technical assistance and reduced cost equipment to convert homes to photovoltaic electric <br />systems, resulting in a significant cost savings as well as promoting "green" building techniques. <br />He invited the community to attend the dedication of Fire Station Four, Bernal property, to be <br />held on Tuesday, August 23 at 4:30 p.m. and to attend the City Council Priority Workshop to be <br />held that same day at 6:30 p.m. in the Council Chambers. <br /> <br />2. ROLL CALL <br /> <br /> City Clerk Dawn Abrahamson called the roll, which is recorded as follows: <br />Councilmembers present were Cindy McGovern, Matt Sullivan, Jerry Thorne, and Mayor <br />Hosterman. Staff members present were: Nelson Fialho, City Manager; Michael Roush, City <br />Attorney; Steven Bocian, Deputy City Manager; Donna Decker, Principal Planner; Jim Wolfe, <br />Director of Parks and Community Services; William Cody, Fire Chief; Jacqui Diaz, Assistant to <br />the City Manager; and Rob Wilson, Director of Public Works; and Scott Deaver, Assistant Fire <br />Marshal. <br /> <br /> Council Member Brozosky was absent and excused. <br />3. AGENDA AMENDMENTS - none. <br /> <br />4. CONSENT CALENDAR <br /> <br /> Ms. McGovern stated that she had a conflict of interest related to agenda item 4r, as she <br /> owned property within 500 feet of the project. She asked staff to provide a brief report regarding <br /> agenda item 4K, PUD-20-1M, Bridge Housing Corporation. <br /> <br /> Nelson Fialho, City Manager, stated that the Assisted Living Facility is a 105-unit facility <br /> that will be located at the corner of Junipero and Sunol. Staff is currently in the final stages of <br /> finalizing the financing agreements for this project. The project is a public/private partnership <br /> with the City owning the land and the private developer constructing the facility.
