MINUTES <br /> OF THE <br /> MEETING <br /> OF THE <br /> PLEASANTON CITY COUNCIL <br /> <br /> May 3, 2005 <br /> <br />6:30 P.M. CLOSED SESSION <br /> <br /> Conference (status update) with legal counsel concerning claims of the FERMA <br />Corporation - Callippe Preserve Golf Course. <br /> <br /> Conference with real property negotiator, Nelson Fialho, regarding the potential <br />purchase of the property located at 4254 Vervais Avenue, Pleasanton, California. <br /> <br /> Conference with legal counsel concerning potential litigation against the Spotorno Ranch <br />Parntership. <br /> <br />1. CALL TO ORDER <br /> <br /> The regular meeting of the City Council was called to order by Vice Mayor Brozosky at <br />7:02 p.m. Ms. McGovern led the assembly in the pledge of allegiance. <br /> <br /> Ms. Tracy Nerland, Assistant City Attorney, reported that Council met in Closed Session <br />with legal counsel concerning the claims of the FERMA Corporation - Callippe Preserve Golf <br />Course. Staff was given direction and no formal action was taken. Council also met with real <br />property negotiator, Nelson Fialho, regarding the potential purchase of the property located at <br />4254 Vervais Avenue, Pleasanton, California. Staff was given direction and no action was <br />taken. <br /> <br /> Ms. McGovern noted that Pleasanton lost one of its greatest community assets last <br />week, Mr. Pleasanton, Ed Kinney. She invited the community to attend the memorial service to <br />be held at the Fairgrounds on May 4 at 4 p.m. Donations may be made in Mr. Kinney's honor at <br />the Pleasanton Presbyterian Church-Ministries, Museum on Main Street and to the Bruns <br />House in care of Contra Costa Hospice. She invited the community to attend the First <br />Wednesday Street ParbJ to be held in the downtown on May 5 beginning at 6 p.m. She <br />announced June 7 is Election Day in Pleasanton and urged the community to exercise its right <br />to vote. Early Voting will be available in the City Clerk's Office beginning Monday, May 16 <br />through Friday, May 27 during normal business hours. In conclusion, Ms. McGovern announced <br />that the Tri-Valley Housing Opportunity Center would be hosting a Housing Expo on Saturday, <br />June 4 at the Career Americe Center on Rosewood Drive between 10 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. <br />Classes will be offered on credit as well as debit counseling and the fundamentals of buying a <br />home. <br /> <br />Pleasanton City Council 1 05/03/05 <br />Minutes <br /> <br /> <br />
