MINUTES <br /> OF THE <br /> MEETING <br /> OF THE <br />PLEASANTON CITY COUNCIL <br /> <br />July 16, 2002 <br /> <br />6:05 P.M. Presentation of 2001 Base Line Traffic Report and New Traffic Model <br /> <br /> Jeff Knowles and Rick Dowling presented the Traffic Report and explained how the <br />Traffic Model works to reflect changes in traffic patterns. They explained how the information <br />had been gathered to establish the assumptions used in the model. Mr. Knowles described a <br />proposed test concerning the timing of the lights on Sunol Boulevard to see if it reflects the <br />model accurately and the public reaction to it. <br /> <br />1. CALL TO ORDER <br /> <br /> The regular meeting of the City Council was called to order by Mayor Tom Pico at 7:04 <br />p.m. <br /> <br /> Councilmember Campbell led the assembly in the pledge of allegiance. He congratulated <br />the three local schools that received the National Blue Ribbon. That is the highest award to <br />schools given by the federal government. There are only 177 awards given and three were given <br />to Pleasanton schools: Harvest Park Middle School, Pleasanton Middle School, and Amador <br />Valley High School. <br /> <br />2. ROLL CALL <br /> <br /> City Clerk Peggy Ezidro called the roll, which is recorded as follows: Councilmembers <br />present were Kay Ayala, Matt Campbell, Sharrell Michelotti and Mayor Tom Pico. Staff <br />members present were: Deborah McKeehan, City Manager; Michael Roush, City Attorney; <br />Brian Swift, Director of Planning and Community Development; Philip Grubstick, Interim <br />Director of Engineering and Inspection Services; Jeff Knowles, Deputy Director of <br />Transportation; James W.
