MINUTES <br /> OF THE <br /> MEETING <br /> OF THE <br />PLEASANTON CITY COUNCIL <br /> <br />January4,2000 <br /> <br />6:30 P.M. CLOSED SESSION <br /> <br /> A closed session was held to confer with legal counsel regarding potential <br />litigation against Alameda County concerning its certification of an EIR and its approval <br />of a specific land plan and related land use entitlements for the San Francisco Water <br />Department's Bernal Avenue Property; to confer with Deborah Acosta, Real Property <br />Negotiator, regarding potential purchase of the San Francisco Bernal Avenue property; <br />and potential purchase of Kaiser Sand and Gravel property. <br /> <br />1. CALL TO ORDER <br /> <br />The meeting was called to order by Mayor Tarver at 7:04 p.m. <br /> <br /> Ms. Michelotti led the assembly in the pledge of allegiance. She then wished the <br />community a happy new year and hoped the holiday season had been fun and eventful <br />with friends and family. As we go through the coming year, she hoped it would be a <br />good year for the community and the Tri-Valley area and that everyone had the best of <br />health. <br /> <br />2. ROLL CALL <br /> <br /> City Clerk Peggy Ezidro called the roll, which is as follows: Councilmembers <br />present were Kay Ayala, Becky Dennis, Sharrell Michelotti, Thomas P. Pico, Jr., and <br />Mayor Ben Tarver. Staff members present were Deborah Acosta, City Manager; Michael <br />Roush, City Attorney; Brian W. Swift, Director of Planning and Community <br />Development; Randall A. Lum, Director of Public Works; Tim Neal, Police Chief; James <br />W. Wolfe, Director of Parks and Community Services; and Eileen Morley, Community <br />Services Manager. <br /> <br />3. AGENDA AMENDMENTS <br /> <br /> Ms. Acosta indicated a request had been made by Mr. Dingman to continue item <br />6a, the appeal of the Keane landscaping plan. If Council chose to continue the item, it <br />should first open the public hearing, then continue it. <br /> <br /> Mr. Pico requested that item 4d, Proposed City Grant 2000 Application Packet <br />and Guidelines, be removed from the Consent Calendar.
