MINUTES <br /> of <br /> THE MEETING <br /> of <br /> THE CITY COUNCIL <br /> Pleasanton, California <br /> March 23, 1970 <br /> <br /> CA~,L TO ,ORDER - ~LEDGE TO FLAG <br /> Mayor Bernard Getton called the Regular Meeting of the City Council to order <br /> at 8:00 P.M., and then led the pledge of allegiance to the flag. <br /> <br /> ROLL CALL <br /> City Clerk Helen McCarty called the roll which is recorded as follows: <br /> Councilmen Beratlis, Reid, Spiliotopoulos, and Mayor Getton were present. Council- <br /> man Rega was absent. Mr. Fales, City Manager, Mr. Edgar, Assistant City Manager, <br /> Mr. Hirst, City Attorney, Mr. Campbell, Director of Public Works, and Mr. Castro, <br /> Director of Planning, were present. <br /> <br /> AGENDAAMENDMENTS <br /> There were no amendments to the agenda. <br /> <br /> CONSENT CALENDAR <br /> It was moved by Councilman Spiliotopoulos and seconded by Councilman Reid that <br /> the following items listed on the Consent Calendar, be approved: <br /> <br /> a. Adoption of Resolution No. 70-53, accepting an Easement from John A. and Nancy <br /> D. Helton, and from George E. Mein, Incorporated, for driveway purposes over a <br /> 20 foot strip of land at 5567 and 5581Sonoma Drive. <br /> <br /> b. Adoption of Resolution No. 70-54, authorizing payment in the amount of $290.00 <br /> to Amador Valley Maintenance Company for work performed on the City owned <br /> property at 121 Main Street. <br /> <br /> The roll call vote was a~ follow.s: <br /> AYES: Councilmen Beratlis, Reid, Spiliotopoulos and Mayor Getton <br /> NOES: None <br /> ABSENT: Councilman Rega <br /> <br /> PUBLIC HFARINGS <br /> Application of the PlanninM COmmission for an amendment to Sect. 13.112 and Sect. <br /> 13.~113~ Ord. Not~20, to require that public hearinMs be held by both PlanBin_~ <br /> Commission and City Council in consideration of tentative planned unit development <br /> p~an_~_s <br /> Mr. Fales explained the procedure as proposed by the Planning Commission and <br /> the City Attorney. <br /> Mayor Gerton declared the public hearing open. <br /> Both Mr. Castro and Mr. Hirst recommended that Section 13.112 and Section 13.113 <br /> of the Zoning Ordinance be amended to require public hearings by both the Planning <br /> Commission and the City Council in their consideration of P.U.D. tentative develop- <br /> ment plans. <br /> There being no public protests, it was moved by Councilman Reid and seconded by <br /> Councilman Spiliotopoulos that the public hearing be closed. <br /> The roll call vote was as follows: <br /> AYES: Councilmen Beratlis, Reid, Spiliotopoulos and Mayor Gerton <br /> NOES: None <br />- ABSENT: Councilman Rega <br /> <br /> After considerable discussion, it was moved by Councilman Spiliotopoulos and <br /> seconded by Councilman Reid that Ordinance No. 593, amending Sections 13.112 and <br /> 13.113 of Ordinance No. 520, to require public hearings by both the Planning Com- <br /> mission and the City Council in their consideration of Planned Unit Development <br /> tentative development plans, be introduced. <br /> The roll call vote was as follows: <br /> AYES: Councilmen Beratlis, Reid, Splliotopoulos and Mayor Gerton <br /> NOES: None <br /> ABSENT: Councilman Rega <br /> <br /> <br />
