1 09 <br /> <br /> MINUTES <br /> of <br /> THE MEETING <br /> of <br /> THE CITY COUNCIL <br /> <br /> Pleasanton, California <br /> February 22, 1971 <br /> <br />CALL TO ORDER- PLEDGE TO FLAG <br /> <br />Mayor Robert Reid called the Regular Meeting of the City Council <br />to order at 8:00 P.M. and then led'the pledge of allegiance to the <br />flag. <br /> <br />Mayor Reid ~.elcom~d ~he Boy Sceuts and. announced that each Council- <br />man and Staff Member had a ~scout counterparts.for this meeting. <br /> <br />ROLL CALL <br /> <br />City Clerk Hellen. McCarty called the roll. which is 'recorded as foll- <br />ows: Councilman Gerton and Mark Curry, Councilman Pearson and Mike <br />McDermott, Councilman Spiliotopoulos and George~Moorehead, and Mayor <br />Reid and John. Blair, were present. Councilman Beratlis was absent. <br />His counterpart, Andy~Kyler, was present. Mr. Fales, City Manager, <br />and Jacob Kovel, Mr. Edgar.,!Assistant City' Manager and Dave Fowler, <br />Mr. Hirst, City Attorney and Robert~Gettman, Mr. Campbell, Director <br />of Public Works and Marcus~ Schwaergle, and Mr. Aiello, Acting Dir- <br />ector of' Planning and .Bruce McDonald, were present. <br /> <br />It was moved by Mayor Reid .and seconded. by Councilman Gerton that <br />Resolutiom No. 71-33, commending the Boy. Scouts of the Amador- <br />Livemore Valley for the public service which they have rendered to <br />the Valley Community, particularly involving work on a trail Build- <br />ing project near the Del Valle Reservior in connection with the <br />Scout'.s conservation activities, be adopted. <br /> <br />The roll call vote was as follows: <br /> <br />AYES: Councilman Gerton, Pearson, Spiliotopoulos and Mayor Reid <br />NOES: None <br />ABSENT: Councilman Beratlis <br /> <br />AGENDA AMEND~.~ZNTS <br /> <br />There were no amendments to the agenda. <br /> <br />CONSENT CALENDAR <br /> <br />It was moved by Councilman Gerton and seconded by Councilman Pearson <br />that the following items listed on the Consent Calendar,' be approved: <br /> <br /> a. January, 1971 Claims in the amount of $96,536.58. <br /> <br /> b. Adoption of Resolution No. 71-28, authorizing the appropriate <br /> .... City~ Officers to execute agreements with the Southern Pacific <br /> Transportation Company for the installation of crossing pro- <br /> tection devices at railroad crossings of Spring, Neal, Angela, <br /> and Abbie Streets. <br /> <br /> <br />
