409 <br /> <br /> MINUTES <br /> of <br /> THE MEETING <br /> of <br /> THE CITY COUNCIL <br /> <br /> May 4, 1976 <br /> <br />CALL TO ORDER <br /> Mayor Robert Philcox called the Adjourned Regular Meeting of the City Council <br /> to order at 6:30 P.M. <br /> <br />ROLL CALL <br /> Councilmembers Brandes, Herlihy, LeClaire, Mercer, and Mayor Philcox were <br />present. Mr. Edgar, City Manager, Mr. Campbell, Assistant City Manager/Director <br />of Public Works, Mr. Caporusso, Recreation Superintendent, Mr. Eaton, Director of <br />Field Services, Mr. Monaco, Sewage Treatment Plant Manager, Mr. Hallock, Street <br />Superintendent, Mr. D. McCloud, Water Superintendent, Mr. Sooby, Director of <br />Engineering Services, and Mr. Walker, Assistant to the City Manager, were present. <br /> <br />PLANNING COMMISSIONER INTERVIEWS <br /> City Council interviewed the following people regarding appointment to the <br />Planning Commission: <br /> <br /> Jim Jordan <br /> Richard W. Knight <br /> Bette E. Meyer <br /> Bill Jamieson <br /> <br /> Mayor Philcox announced that City Council will be considering the final appoint- <br />ment to the Planning Commission on May 10, 1976, prior to the Regular Council meeting <br />and would make a decision at that time. <br /> <br />BUDGET WORK SESSION <br /> Mr. Edgar began review of the proposed 1976-77 Preliminary Budget and discussed <br />the Recreation Program. After some discussion regarding the subsidy to volunteer <br />forces it was decided that $6,900.00, which has been allocated for this purpose, <br />would be put in the category of a questionable item that could be deleted at a later <br />time. <br /> <br /> After review and questions of the Recreation Program, the City Council began <br />review of the Department of Field Services, with the assistance of Mr. Eaton and <br />his respective Division Chiefs. Individual items on each of the Programs were <br />reviewed. It was decided to eliminate $2,000.00 for signs related to entrances <br />to Subdivisions within the City, and to request the City Attorney's opinion re- <br />garding whether or not the City could purchase Fire Station No. 2 through the <br />non-profit corporation. <br /> <br />ADJOURNMENT <br /> There being no further business at 10:20 P.M., Mayor Philcox adjourned the <br />meeting to meet again in Regular Session at 7:00 P.M., on May 10, 1976, at the <br />Pleasanton Council Chambers, 30 West Angela Street. <br /> <br />Respectfully Submitted, <br /> <br />WILLIAM H.
