MINUTES <br /> of <br /> THE MEETING <br /> of <br /> THE CITY COUNCIL <br /> <br /> April 29, 1976 <br /> <br /> CALL TO ORDER <br /> Mayor Robert Philcox called the Adjourned Regular Meeting of the City Council <br /> to order at 6:30 P.M. <br /> <br /> ROLL CALL <br /> <br /> resent Mr Ed at CityManager/Director <br /> of Public Works, Mr. Harris, Director of Planning, Mr. Sooby, Director of Engi- <br /> neering Services, Mr. Dobbins, Chief Building Inspector, Mr. McCloud, Director of <br /> Public Safety, Mr. Nelson, Police Captain, Mro Cherry, Fire Division Administra- <br /> tion, and Mr. Walker, Assistant to the City Manager, were present. <br /> <br /> EXECUTIVE SESSION <br /> Mayor Philcox recessed the meeting to an Executive Session at 6:35 P.M., regarding <br /> ~e ossible legal challenges to votes by a member of the Housing Authority not having <br /> siSent status in the City, <br /> Mayor Philcox reconvened the meeting at 6:55 P.M. <br /> <br /> HOUSING AUTHORITY COMMISSIONER INTERVIEWS <br /> City Council interviewed the following people regarding appointment to the <br /> Housing Authority Board: <br /> <br /> Mrs. Cecelia Governor <br /> Mrs. Mary Gremmilion <br /> Mrs. Gladys L. LaPlante <br /> Mrs. Charlotte B. Pruitt <br /> Mrs. Gladys Sere <br /> Mrs. Beverly Montgomery <br /> Mr. Daniel Blea <br /> <br /> Councilmember Herlihy left the meeting at 7:35 P.M. <br /> <br />BUDGET WORK SESSION <br /> Mr. Edgar reviewed what had taken place at the first Budget Work Session on <br />April 27, 1976, and the adjustments which had been made thusfar. He also answered <br />questions related to this. <br /> <br /> Mr. Edgar then reviewed the Budget related to Community Development with the <br />assistance of Mr. Harris, Mr. Dobbins, and Mr0 Sooby. Tentative adjustments were <br />made in the Planning Budget by eliminating $10,000.00 for the Geological Survey, <br />and possibly $1,000.00 for expenditures related to COVA. The Council authorized <br />a salary increase for the part-time Building Inspector as an exemption from the <br />normal personnel+ procedures. <br /> <br /> City Council then began their review of the Department of Public Safety and <br />indicated that they would review the Stanford Medical Training in further detail <br />and that Counci~nember Brandes would present hls organizational plans related to <br />the Deparm~ent of Public Safety on Monday, May 3, 1976. <br /> <br />ADJOURNblENT <br /> There being no further business at 10:00 P.M., Mayor Philcox adjourned the <br />meeting to meet again in Adjourned Regular Session at 6:30 P.M., on May 3, 1976, <br />at the Pleasanton Council Chambers, 30 West Angela Street. <br /> <br />Respectfully Submitted, <br /> <br />WILLIAM H.
