MINUTES of THE MEETING of THE CITY COUNCIL February 29, 1980 CALL TO ORDER Mayor Frank Brandes, Jr., called the continued Regula.r Meeting from February 26, 1980, to order at 6:00 P.M., at the City Hall Conference Room. ROLL CALL The roll call is recorded as follows: Councilmembers Butler, Mercer, Wood, and Mayor Brandes were. present. Councilmember Kephart was absent. Mr. Walker, Acting City Manager, and Mr. Levine, City Attorney, were present. FURTHER DISCUSSION REGARDING REV-IEWOF BIDS AND AWARD OF CONTRACT FOR SPORTS P.ARK~ PHASE III (Continued from 2-26-80) The City Council reviewed the report from the Park and Recreation Commission recommending that the City Council approve an expenditure of $394,452 for improve- ments to the Sports Park, Phase III. Council had questions concerning the effect on this project of the McManus Development and asked that staff report on this matter at the Council meeting on March 3, 1980. VINTAGE HILLS PARK AND MISSION HILLS PARK After discussion, it was moved by Councilmember Mercer, and seconded by Council- member Butler, that Resolution No. 80-47, authorizing staff to enter into an agree- ment with A1 Dutchover, Landscape Architect, to design and prepare the 'tWO' projects to go to bid at a maximum cost of $10,000, and the City has the right to approve Engineering firm hired by Mr. Dutchover to design the' Vintage Hills Park, be adopted. The roll call vote was as follows: AYES: Councilmen Butler, Mercer, Wood, and Mayor Brandes NOES: None ABSENT: Councilman Kephart EXECUTIVE SESSION Mayor Brandes recessed the meeting at 7:00 P.M., to an Executive Session to discuss litigation. Mayor Brandes reconvened the meeting at 7:45 P.M. ADJOURNMENT There being no further business at 7:50 P.M., Mayor Brandes adjourned the meeting to be continued in Regular Session on March 3, 1980, 6:00 P.M., at the City Hall Conference Room.
