MINUTES of THE MEETING of THE CITY COUNCIL August 25, 1981 CALL TO ORDER - PLEDGE TO THE FLAG Mayor Kenneth Mercer called the Regular Meeting of the City Council to order at 8:00 P.M., and then led the Pledge of Allegiance to the flag. ROLL CALL F" Deputy City Clerk Doris George called the roll which is recorded as follows: Councilmembers Butler, Kephart, Mohr, Wood, and Mayor Mercer were present. Mr. T~ Walker, City Manager, Mr. Leviue, City Attorney, Mr. Warnick, Director of Public CO Works and Utilities, and Mr. Harris, Director of Planning.and Community Development, ~ were present. AGKNDAAMENDMENTS Mr. Walker requested that the three items on the agenda related to housing (Sa, 12e, and 13a) be discussed simultaneously at the end of the agenda. Mr. Walker requested that item 8c - Appeal of Kaiser Foundation Health Plan of certain conditions of approval set by the Design Review Board in approving the design of an approximately 46,000 sq. ft. medical office building proposed to be constructed at the southwest corner of Springdale Avenue and Stoneridge Mall Road, be continued to the meeting of September 8, 1981, at the request of the appellant. Mr. Walker advised there would be an Executive Session at the conclusion of this meeting to discuss labor relations and personnel. CONSENT CALENDAR It was moved by Councilmember Butler, and seconded by Councilmember Wood, that the following items listed on the Consent Calendar be approved: a. Approval of City Council Minutes for August 11, 1981. b. Proclaim October 4-10, 1981, as Symphony Week in Pleasanton. c. Adoption of Ordinance No. 988, approving the application of Albert Rennet for PUD zoning and development plan approval for a 63,000 sq. ft. combination office building and carpenters training center proposed for the eight acre site located on the east side of Santa Rita Road approximately 250 north of Mohr Avenue. Ms. Joyce Getty, 925 Kottinger Drive, Chairperson of the Planning Commission, expressed opposition to adoption of this ordinance, stating she felt strongly that this is not a good location for this particular use, and that the developer had not given straight answers relative to the project. d. Adoption of Ordinance No. 989, approving the application of Vintage Associates, Ltd., for Planned Unit Development zoning and development plan approval for a 108-unit townhouse project located on a 7.19 acre site immediately behind the shopping center on Pico Avenue between Tawny and Palomino Drives, the property is zoned PUD (Planned Unit Development-High Density Residential) District. e. Adoption of Resolution No. 81-268, approving Claims for the month of July, 1981, in the amount of $713,353.98.
