Brandes, Jr., called the Special Meeting of the City Coun- <br />cil to order at 6:00 p.m. <br /> <br />ROLL CALL <br /> The roll call is recorded as follows: Councilmembers Butler, Mercer, <br />Mohr, Wood, and Mayor Brandes were present. Mr. Walker, City Manager, and Mr. <br />MacDonald, City Attorney, were present. <br /> <br />DECLARING RESULTS OF NOVEMBER 4, 1986 MUNICIPAL ELECTION <br /> Mr. Walker presented his report (SR 86:490) dated November 10, 1986, de- <br />claring the results of the November 4, 1986 Municipal Election as follows: <br /> <br /> MAYOR <br /> Kenneth R. Mercer 12,102 <br /> <br /> COUNCILMEMBER <br /> Frank C. Brandes, Jr. 5,196 <br /> Walter C. Wood 4,399 <br /> Ben C. Tarver 4,030 <br /> <br /> It was moved by Councilmember Mercer, and seconded by Councilmember But- <br />ler, that Resolution No. 86-511, declaring the results of the November 4, 1986 <br />Municipal Election, be adopted. <br />The roll call vote was as follows: <br />AYES: Councilmembers Butler, Mercer, Mohr, Wood, and Mayor Brandes <br />NOES: None <br />ABSENT: None <br /> <br />SWEARING IN OF MAYOR AND COUNCILMEMBER <br /> Mr. Walker administered the Oath of Office of Kenneth R. Mercer, as Mayor <br />of the City of Pleasanton for a term of two years effective November 11, 1986. <br />Mr. Mercer expressed his gratitude for his unopposed election, and made spe- <br />cial mention of gratitude to Walt Wood for serving the community for sixteen <br />years and making Pleasanton a better place to live. Mayor Brandes turned the <br />gavel over to Mr. Mercer. <br /> <br /> Mr. Walker administered the Oath of Office of Frank C. Brandes, Jr., as <br />Councilmember for the City of Pleasanton for a term of four years effective <br />November 11, 1986. Mr. Brandes personally thanked Walt Wood for his many <br />years of dedicated service to the community. He thanked the electorate for <br />their vote of confidence in electing him as Councilmember. <br /> <br /> Councilmember Wood stated he had started to draw up a list of people to <br />thank but quit when the list began to resemble the size of Pleasanton's <br />population. He thanked all the people of Pleasanton for letting him serve <br />them. <br /> <br /> <br />
