381 <br /> <br /> MINUTES <br /> of <br /> THE MEETING <br /> of <br /> THE CITY COUNCIL <br /> <br /> January 20, 1987 <br /> <br />CALL TO ORDER <br /> Mayor Kenneth R. Mercer called the Regular Meeting of the City Council to <br />order at 8:00 p.m., and then led the Pledge of Allegiance to the flag. <br /> <br />ROLL CALL <br /> Deputy City Clerk Doris George called the roll which is recorded as fol- <br />lows: Councilmembers Brandes, Butler, Mohr, and Mayor Mercer were present. <br />Councilmember Wilson was absent. Mr. Walker, City Manager, Mr. MacDonald, <br />City Attorney, and Mr. Elliott, Director of Public Works and Utilities, were <br />present. <br /> <br />AGENDA AMENDMENTS <br /> Mr. Walker requested that item 4f - Modification to Agreement with Bissell <br />& Karn for Engineering Work on Hopyard Interchange, be removed from the <br />agenda. <br /> <br />CONSENT CALENDAR <br /> It was moved by Councilmember Brandes, and seconded by Councilmember Mohr, <br />that the following items listed on the Consent Calendar, as amended thereto, <br />be approved: <br /> <br />a. Approval of City Council Minutes for 1-6-87. <br /> <br />b. Adoption of Ordinance No. 1295, approval of RZ-86-11, application of the <br /> City of Pleasanton to prezone the Panganiban parcel to "A" (Agriculture), <br /> located south of Old Dublin Canyon Road generally in the area approximate- <br /> ly 4,800 feet west of the intersection of Foothill Road and Old Dublin <br /> Canyon Road. <br /> <br />c. Adoption of Ordinance No. 1296, approval of RZ-86-14, application of the <br /> City of Pleasanton to amend the Municipal Code to allow six foot high <br /> wrought-iron, split rail or other similar type fencing within the required <br /> front yard setbacks in the R-1-20,O00, R-1-40,O00 (Single-family Residen- <br /> tial), and the "A" (Agricultural) Districts. <br /> <br />d. Adoption of Resolution No. 87-20, denial of the claim of C. C. Myers for <br /> indemnification from any liability which may result from the lawsuit <br /> regarding damages caused by a broken water pipeline on March 14, 1985;and <br /> referring this matter to the City Attorney for further handling. <br /> <br />e. Adoption of Resolution No. 87-21, approval of summary vacation of one par- <br /> cel at the southwest corner of Old Santa Rita Road and Santa Rita Road, <br /> determining the market value for the property as $1.00, directing City to <br /> notify all agencies required by law to be given first opportunity to pur- <br /> chase surplus property, City Council finds that the most appropriate <br /> development pattern for the area is for use in the adjacent parcel, and if <br /> <br /> 1 <br /> <br /> <br />
