Mercer recessed the meeting to an Executive Session at <br /> 7:30 p.m., to discuss the claim of Mark Redeker and Labor Relations. <br /> <br /> Mayor Mercer reconvened the meeting at 8:00 p.m. <br /> <br /> CALL TO ORDER <br /> Mayor Kenneth R. Mercer called the Regular Meeting of the City Council to <br /> order at 8:00 p.m., and then led the Pledge of Allegiance to the flag. <br /> <br /> ROLL CALL <br /> · Deputy City Clerk Doris George called the roll which is recorded as fol- <br />]0 lows: Councilmembers Brandes, Butler, Mohr, Wilson, and Mayor Mercer were <br /> present. Mr. Walker, City Manager, Mr. MacDonald, City Attorney, Mr. Elliott, <br /> Director of Public Works and Utilities, and Mr. Lee, Principal Planner, were <br /> present. <br /> <br /> AGENDA AMENDMENTS <br /> Mr. Walker requested that an item be added to the agenda under the Consent <br /> Calendar as item 41 Modification to Contract with Alameda County to Provide <br /> Fire Protection Services to Certain Unincorporated Areas. <br /> <br /> CONSENT CALENDAR <br /> It was moved by Councilmember Butler, and secondec Councilmember <br /> Mohr,that the following items listed on the Consent Ca~=iijar, as amended <br /> thereto, be approved: <br /> <br /> a. Approval of City Council Minutes for 6-2-87. <br /> <br /> b. Proclaim June 14-20, 1987 as National Safety Week. <br /> <br /> c. Adoption of Resolution No. 87-249, denying the claim of Clinton Sipes in <br /> the sum of $500,000 for alleged violation of his civil rights due to inju- <br /> ry of his reputation by members of the Pleasanton Police Department; and <br /> referring this matter to the City Attorney for further handling. <br /> <br /> d. Adoption of Resolution No. 87-250, approval of application by County Fair <br /> for a public fireworks display on June 27, 1987. <br /> <br /> e. Adoption of Resolution No. 87-251, approval of Claims for the month of May <br /> 1987, in the amount of $2,926,811.85. <br /> <br /> f. Adoption of Resolution No. 87-252, acceptance of public improvements - <br /> Kottinger Park Memorial, Project No. 85-79; authorizing the City Attorney <br /> to file a Notice of Completion; and approving final payment of $810.00 to <br /> Mori Hatsushi and Associates, and retain 10% of the final contract amount <br /> ($3,877.29) until 30 days after filing the notice of completion. <br /> <br /> <br />
