247 <br /> <br /> MINUTES <br /> OF <br /> THE MEETING <br /> OF <br /> THE CITY COUNCIL <br /> <br /> OCTOBER 18, 1988 <br /> <br />CALL TO ORDER <br /> Mayor Kenneth R. Mercer called the Regular Meeting of the <br />City Council to order at 7:30 p.m., and then led the Pledge of <br />Allegiance to the flag. <br /> <br />ROLL CALL <br />Deputy City Clerk Doris George called the roll which is <br />recorded as follows: Councilmembers Brandes, Butler, Wilson, and <br />Mayor Mercer were present. Councilmember Mohr was absent. Mr. <br />Walker, City Manager, Mr. Roush, City Attorney, Mr. Swift, <br />Director of Planning and Community Development, Mr. Elliott, <br />Director of Public Works and Utilities, Mr. Bocian, Assistant City <br />Manager, and Ms. Bengtson, Director of Parks and Community <br />Services, were present. <br /> <br />AGENDA AMENDMENTS <br /> Mr. Walker advised there would be a closed session held at <br />the conclusion of this meeting. After the closed session, Council <br />will need to reconvene as City Council and then adjourn to a <br />meeting of the Community Development Agency. <br /> <br />CONSENT CALENDAR <br /> It was moved by Councilmember Brandes, and seconded by <br />Councilmember Butler, that the following items listed on the <br />Consent Calendar be approved: <br /> <br />a. Approval of City Council Minutes for 10-4-88. <br /> <br />b. Adoption of Ordinance No. 1386, approving PUD-83-12-5M, <br /> application of bas Homes for a major modification to an <br /> approved development plan for an existing residential project <br /> to allow six foot fences to be constructed within seven feet <br /> of the property line on the street side of corner lots <br /> located at Lots 7, 11, 14, 15, and 19 of Tract 5445 on Martin <br /> Avenue. <br /> <br />c. Adoption of Ordinance No. 1387, repealing Ordinance Nos. 554 <br /> and 953 (Chapter 6.12 PMC) providing for the regulation of <br /> cardrooms. <br /> <br />d. Adoption of Resolution No. 88-483, authorizing the hiring of <br /> one full-time custodian for the purpose of providing <br /> custodial services for the Pleasanton Library; and <br /> authorizing a General Fund Budget allocation of $17,837.00 to <br /> cover the compensation for the custodian. <br /> - 1 - <br /> <br /> <br />
