167 <br /> <br /> MINUTES <br /> OF <br /> THE MEETING <br /> OF <br /> THE CITY COUNCIL <br /> <br /> SEPTEMBER 6, 1988 <br /> <br />cALL TO ORDER <br /> Mayor Kenneth R. Mercer called the Regular Meeting of the <br />City Council to order at 7:30 p.m. Mayor Mercer introduced Peggy <br />Despotakis who is acting as Mayor of the Day because of a recent <br />fund raising event. She led the Pledge of Allegiance to the <br />Flag. <br /> <br />ROLL CALL <br /> Deputy City Clerk Doris George called the roll which is <br />recorded as follows: Councilmembers Brandes, Butler, Mohr, <br />Wilson, and Mayor Mercer were present. Mr. Walker, City Manager, <br />Mr. Beougher, Acting City Attorney, Mr. Swift, Director of <br />Planning and Community Development, Mr. Elliott, Director of <br />Public Works and Utilities, Mr. Bocian, Assistant City Manager, <br />Mr. Eastman, Police Chief, and Mrs. Bengtson, Director of Parks <br />and Community Services, were present. <br /> <br />AGENDA AMENDMENTS <br /> Mr. Walker requested that item 9h - AP-88-18, Appeal of a <br />decision of the Planning Commission denying Case PUD-08-9, <br />application of Lakeshore Financial for planned unit development <br />rezoning and development plan approval, be continued to the <br />meeting of September 20, 1988, at the request of the appellant. <br />Council concurred. <br /> <br />CONSENT CALENDAR <br /> It was moved by Councilmember Wilson, and seconded by <br />Councilmember Mohr, that the following items listed on the Consent <br />Calendar be approved: <br /> <br />a. Approval of City Council Minutes for 8-16-88. <br /> <br />b. Proclaim September 22, 1988 as American Business Women's Day <br /> <br />c. Adoption of Resolution No. 88-404, encouraging the National <br /> Football League to award an expansion franchise to the <br /> Oakland-Alameda County Coliseum to serve fans of the cities <br /> and counties of Alameda and Contra Costa. <br /> <br />d. Adoption of Ordinance No. 1380, approval of PUD-85-15-2D, <br /> application of Currin Construction Company and Timm, Inc., <br /> for development plan approval for a 95-parcel residential <br /> project to be located on an approximately 262 acre site <br /> located on the west side of Foothill Road approximately 3100 <br /> feet south of the intersection of Bernal Avenue and Foothill <br /> Road. <br /> - 1 - <br /> <br /> <br />
