157 <br /> <br /> MINUTES OF THE SPECIAL MEETING <br /> OF THE CITY COUNCIL <br /> ON NOVEMBER 3, 1992 <br /> REGARDING THE MAIN STREET DESIGN AND MATERIALS <br /> <br /> The special meeting of the City Council was called to order by <br /> Vice Mayor Ben Tarver in the City Council Chambers at 8:00 p.m. <br /> <br /> Those in attendance were Vice Mayor Ben Tarver, Councilmembers <br />Dorothy Scribner and Karin Mohr Those members abstaining from <br />participation due to conflicts of interest were: Mayor Kenneth R. <br />Mercer and Councilmember Robert E. Butler. <br /> <br /> It was moved by Ms. Scribner, seconded by Ms. Mohr, that the <br />special paving material be used at the corners and midblock only <br />with the contrasting band at curb and edge of buildings; and the <br />tree wells have grates in the sidewalk area and decomposed granite <br />to be used for trees in the parking lane. <br />The roll call vote was as follows: <br />AYES: Councilmembers - Mohr, Scribner, and Vice Mayor Tarver <br />NOES: None <br />ABSENT: None <br />ABSTAIN: Councilmember Butler and Mayor Mercer <br /> <br /> It was moved by Ms. Scribner, seconded by Ms. Mohr, that there <br />be benches and planters at the corners and midblock crossings, with <br />the design to be decided at a later date. <br />The roll call vote was as follows: <br />AYES: Councilmembers - Mohr, Scribner, and Vice Mayor Tarver <br />NOES: None <br />ABSENT: None <br />ABSTAIN: Councilmember Butler and Mayor Mercer <br /> <br /> It was moved by Ms. Scribner, seconded by Ms. Mohr, that there <br />be a linear park in front of the museum with an informal path <br />containing seating, arrangement to be decided later, with <br />crosspaths to access parked cars. The material for paving to be <br />decided later and the bench material to be decided later.
