MINUTES <br /> OF <br /> THE <br /> SPECIAL MEETING <br /> OF <br /> THE CITY COUNCIL <br /> <br /> July 26, 1996 <br /> <br />1. CALL TO ORDER AND PLEDGE OF ALLEGIANCE, <br /> <br /> Mayor Ben Tarvet called the special meeting of the City Council to order at 8:00 p.m. <br />and led the assembly in the pledge of allegiance. <br /> <br />2, ROLL CALL <br /> <br /> City Clerk Peggy L. Ezidro called the roll, which is recorded as follows: <br />Councilmembers present were Becky Dennis, Thomas P. Pico, Jr. and Mayor Ben Tarver. Staff <br />members present were: Deborah Acosta, City Manager; Steven Bocian, Assistant City Manager; <br />Michael H. Roush, City Attorney; Brian W. Swift, Director of Planning and Community <br />Development; and Randall A. Lum, Director of Public Works. <br /> <br /> Councilmembers Sharrell Michelotti and Karin Mohr were absent. <br /> <br /> Mr. Tarver referred to information obtained from the Registrar of Voters. <br /> <br /> Mr. Roush indicated he had a conversation with the Alameda County Registrar of Voters <br />regarding whether the initial arguments on the initiative measures could be submitted later than <br />August 9. He has a confirming letter that the deadline can be delayed to August 16, 1996 with <br />rebuttal arguments to be August 26, 1996. <br /> <br /> Mr. Tarver thanked staff in providing alternatives that would allow all the Council to <br />participate and keep all options open to Council so the matter can be concluded in a way that <br />allows all the Council to participate in a manner they would like. <br /> <br />3. 1996 PLEASANTON GENERAL PLAN UPDATE <br /> <br /> It was moved by Mr. Tarver, seconded by Mr. Pieo, to continue the meeting to <br />August 6, 1996 and aH other items currently on the August 6 to regular agenda be <br />continued to a special meeting if possible and if not to a special meeting, then to the next <br />regular meeting; the meeting on August 6 will be conducted as follows: (1) Following <br /> <br />07/26/96 <br /> -1- <br /> <br /> <br />
