THE CITY OF <br />L£~S~4NTONo CITY COUNCIL AGENDA REPORT <br />August 21, 2007 <br />Public Works Department <br />TITLE: APPROVAL OF PLANS AND SPECIFICATIONS, REVIEW OF BIDS AND <br />AWARD OF CONTRACT TO N2 ELECTRIC INC. IN THE AMOUNT OF <br />$244,330, FOR THE AMADOR THEATRE LIGHTING UPGRADE PROJECT <br />SUMMARY <br />Bids have been received for the subject project and staff is recommending award of the <br />construction contract to the low bidder in the amount of $244,330. The subject project <br />consists of improvements providing for the replacement of marginal and aging dimmers <br />and electrical distribution for theatrical lighting in the Amador Theatre. <br />RECOMMENDATION <br />1. Approve the plans and specifications for this project. <br />2. Review the bids received and award the contract for the subject project to N2 Electric <br />Inc. of Livermore for a low bid of $244,330. <br />3. Authorize the Director of Public Works to approve and execute contract change <br />orders fora contingency amount not-to-exceed $48,870 (20% of the contract <br />amount), for necessary related project work. <br />4. Authorize the City Manager to enter into the above contract. <br />FINANCIAL STATEMENT <br />This project will result in a decrease in long-term maintenance cost and repairs due to <br />the upgrading of the current marginal and aging dimmers and electrical distribution for <br />the building's theatrical lighting. The current budget includes $425,000 for this project. <br />
