PLANNING COMMISSION
CITY OF PLEASANTON
COUNTY OF ALAMEDA
STATE OF CALIFORNIA
RESOLUTION NO. 2123
A RESOLUTION OF THE PLANNING COMMISSION OF THE CITY
OF PLEASANTON CONTINUING CASE RZ-81-25, APPLICATION OF
ERNEST AND CHARLOTTE JONES FOR REZONING AND INITIATING
A REZONING REQUEST FOR THE TWO PARCELS ON THE WEST SIDE
OF ROSE LANE.
WHEREAS, Ernest and Charlotte Jones have applied to rezone approxi-
mately 4.5 acres of land located at the northwest corner
of Rose Avenue and Rose Lane from the A (Agricultural)
District to the R-1-10,000 or R-1-20,000 (Single-Family
Residential) District; and
WHEREAS, at their duly noticed public hearing of January 13, 1982 the
Planning Commission considered the request of City staff
in that the area in the vicinity of the subject property is
now semi-rural in nature but will gradually become more
urban as land values rise. Eight or nine single-family
residences on approximately 1/2 acre lots would fit in with
this semi-rural atmosphere and the Jones' rezoning, if
approved, would however create an approximately 1 acre
island of agricultural land surrounded by the R-1 zoned
property. This would be the two parcels on the west side
of Rose Lane immediately north of the Jones 1 acre parcel.
They are both approximately 1/2 acre in size and contain
single-family residences and if the Jones zoning is
approved, would, be surrounded by R-1-6500 on the east
and R-1-10,000 or R-1-20,000 on the south, west and north.
NOW, THEREFORE, THE PLANNING COMMISSION RESOLVES THE FOLLOWING:
Section 1. Continues case RZ-81-25 to their Planning Commission
meeting of 2/10/82 and initates a rezoning of the parcels
described above.
Section 2. This resolution shall become effective immediately upon
its passage and adoption.
PASSED AND ADOPTED by the Planning Commission of the City of Pleasanton
on the 13th day of January 1982 by the following vote:
AYES: Commissioners Doherty, Jamieson, Lindsey, Wilson and
Chairperson Getty
NOES: None
ABSENT: None
ABSTAIN: None
DATE: January 13, 1982
