PLANNING COMMISSION <br />CITY OF PLEASANTON <br />COUNTY OF ALAMEDA <br />STATE OF CALIFORNIA <br />RESOLUTION NO. 2598 <br />A RESOLUTION OF THE PLANNING COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF <br />PLEASANTON RECOMMENDING APPROVAL OF AN ORDINANCE CODE <br />CHANGE RELATING TO 8 FOOT HIGH REAR AND SIDE YARD FENCES <br />IN RESIDENTIAL DISTRICTS AS FILED UNDER CASE RZ-84-20 <br />WHEREAS, the City of Pleasanton has applied for a amendment to <br />the Ordinance Code to allow a 8 foot high rear and side <br />yard fences in residential districts, and to modify the <br />definition of "rear yards;" and <br />WHEREAS, at their duly noticed public hearing of January 23, 1985 <br />the Planning Commission considered all public testimony, <br />relevant exhibits and recommendations of the City staff; <br />and <br />WHEREAS, the Planning Commission has determined that there may be <br />instances where fencing and hedges up to 8 ft. in height <br />would be appropriate in side and rear yards. <br />NOW, THEREFORE, THE PLANNING COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF PLEASANTON <br />RESOLVES THE FOLLOWING; <br />Section 1. Recommends to the City Council that they adopt the <br />draft ordinance presented to the Planning Commission <br />which amends Section 2-5.32 of Article 2 and Section <br />2-5.38 of Article 3, Chapter 2, Title II of the <br />Ordinance Code of the City of Pleasanton to permit <br />fences, walls, and hedges between G feet an 8 feet in <br />height in side and rear yards as shown on Exhibit A, <br />copy of which is attached hereto and made part of this <br />case by reference. <br />Section 2. This resolution shall become effective immediately <br />upon its passage and adoption. <br />PASSED AND ADOPTED BY THE PLANNING COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF <br />PLEASANTON ON THE 23RD DAY OF JANUARY 1985 BY THE FOLLOWING VOTE: <br />AYES: Commissioners Innes, <br />Chairman Doherty <br />NOES: None <br />ABSENT: Commissioner Getty <br />ABSTAIN: None <br />Lindsey, Commissioner Wilson and <br />- 1 - <br />
