THE CITY OF <br />j'L£~S~4NTONo <br />July 17, 2007 <br />Public Works Department <br />TITLE: PUBLIC HEARING AND INTRODUCTION OF ORDINANCE FOR <br />SPEED LIMIT INCREASE FROM 40 TO 45 MPH ON VINEYARD <br />AVENUE BETWEEN PIETRONAVE LANE AND MACHADO PLACE <br />SUMMARY <br />The City's traffic engineering staff review and update speed limits when significant <br />roadway changes have taken place. The removal of the roundabouts on Vineyard <br />Avenue constituted a significant roadway change. Staff has reviewed the posted limit <br />on Vineyard Avenue between Pietronave Lane and Machado Place and recommend a <br />change in the posted speed limit from 40 to 45 mph. <br />RECOMMENDATION <br />Adopt the attached ordinance increasing the posted speed limit on Vineyard Avenue <br />between Pietronave Lane and Machado Place from 40 mph to 45 mph. <br />18 <br />CITY COUNCIL AGENDA REPORT <br />FINANCIAL STATEMENT <br />The change in the posted limit will require sign and pavement legend replacements. <br />Sufficient funds for this work are budgeted in the Street Maintenance Division. <br />
