PLANNING COMMISSION OF THE CITY ~' Pi,SASANTON <br />COUNTY OF ALAMEDA, STATE OF CALIFORNIA <br />MINUTES <br />Meeting of March 20, 1958 <br />The meeting of the City Planning Commission was called to order at the City Hall on <br />March 20~ 1958 at 8:00 p.m., Acting Chairman Wetherby presiding. <br />Roll Call: Present - Commissioners DeVor, Hanifen, Lozano, Trowbridge and Wetherby. <br />Absent - Commissioners Mitchell and Wharton. <br />The minntea of the meeting of March 6, 1958 were approved as submitted on motion of <br />Commissioner Hanifen, seconded by Commissioner Wetherby and approved by all Comroissionera <br />present. <br />Oa motion of Commissioner Trowbridge, seconded by Commissioner Hanifea axd approved <br />by all Commissioners preanet, City Administrator Donald Christen was appointed as <br />secretary to the Planning Commission. <br />Mr. Olof Anderson, County Surveyor, spoke concerning improvements for Santa Rita <br />Road and proposed bridge widening on Main Street. Mr. John Sweeney acd Mr. Wayne <br />Allison questioned Mr. Anderson with regards to these improvements. <br />On motion of Commissioner Trowbridge, seconded by Commissioner Hanifen and approved <br />by all Commissioner present, it was directed that a letter be sent to the Alameda <br />County Planning Commission opposing the development of a motel, subdivision and buai- <br />aesa center on Highway 50, approximately 1 mile east of Santa Rita Road, stating that <br />the development is sot in conformance with PleasantonFs Ceneral Plan. <br />Harry Shackelton spoke concerning his application to the County Planning Commission <br />for the rezoning of approximately nine acres of land at the intersection of Santa <br />Rita Road and Valley Avenue, from agricultural to general commercial "C-2" use. <br />Commissioner Trowbridge stated that the County had turned down Mr. Shackelton~s .may <br />request after the receipt of a letter from the Pleasanton Planning Commission eb&~g ~ <br />that a non-conforming use permit be issued with the present zoning to be continued ~~~` <br />as agricultural. Mr. Eddy representing Western sierra Lumber Compagy also spoke s~~'~`B <br />concerning the proposed rezoning. Mr. Christen, City Administrator, stated that <br />Mr. Robert Williams, Mr. Doucher std himself had previously arranged a meeting to <br />discuss the proposed Pleasanton Ceneral Plan and suggested that the Commission might <br />wait for a recommendation from the Planning Consiltant before making a decision on <br />Mr. Shackelton~s request. The Planning Commission therefore deferred any further <br />action until their meeting of April 3, 1958. <br />On motion of Commissioner Hanifen, seconded by Commissioner Trowbridge and approved <br />by all Commissioners present, Tentative Map - Tract 1917 was approved with the <br />following conditions; <br />1. That the easement across Lots 21, 22, 28, and 29 be acquired by the sub- <br />dividers and abeadoned. <br />2. That Lots 28, 29, 30, 31, 32, 34, 35, 36, a:xl 3? adjacent to the existing <br />easement he provided with "no a xess" beyond the southern boundaxq of <br />said ?.easement. In the event this easement is acquired add abandoned by <br />the subdividers, this "no access" will be established at the north boundary <br />of said tract line as indicated on Exhibit "A"• <br />3. Mini"e+b lot area within Tract 1917 to be a net of 6,000 square feet, <br />exclusive of slopes. Use of land to be single family residential. <br />4. That the street "Entrada Drive" be renamed "Avenida Del Sol". <br />5. That equitable arrangements be made by the City Council for reimbursement <br />to the City for utilities provided, namely, domestic water, storm drainage <br />and sanitary sewer. <br />6. That "Avenida Del Sol" be continued westerly. <br />7. Exhibit "An is to become a part of this recommendation. <br />8. That the final map when submitted be subject to approval by the City Engineer. <br />
