CITY COUNCIL AGENDA REPORT <br />June 19, 2007 <br />Fire <br />TITLE: APPROVE AN AGREEMENT WITH PREMIER COMP MEDICAL <br />GROUP FOR FIRE DEPARTMENT WELLNESS-FITNESS PROGRAM <br />SUMMARY <br />A Request for Proposal (RFP) was distributed on April 9, 2007 to local Health Care <br />Agencies seeking a physician to provide a fire department wellness-fitness program. <br />After reviewing responses from three local Providers, findings revealed that Premier <br />Comp Medical Group was best able to continue to offer comprehensive services within <br />the established 07-09 budget for wellness and fitness. The contract for services will <br />remain in accordance with the mandatory annual medical and fitness exams addressed <br />the 2001 MOU (Section 27.2; Page 31). <br />RECOMMENDATION <br />LPFD is recommending that Premier Comp Medical Group continue to provide a <br />physician based wellness and fitness program for fire suppression members. <br />FINANCIAL STATEMENT <br />For year 07-08, the amount of $85,000.00 and FY OS-09, the amount of $90,000.00 has <br />been budgeted to account 280-787-4383. This amount includes any specialty services <br />required. <br />
