MINUTES <br />PLANNING COMMISSION <br />Pleasanton Council Chambers <br />30 West Angela Street <br />January 11, 1978 <br />8:00 P.M. <br />CALL TO ORDER <br />The regular meeting of the Planning Commission of the City of Pleasanton <br />was called to order by Chairman Butler at 8:25 P.M. . <br />The Pledge of Allegiance was recited. <br />ROLL CALL <br />Commissioners Present: Doherty, Jamieson, Shepherd, Wood, Chairman Butler <br />Commissioners Absent: None <br />Staff Members Present: Robert Harris, Director of Planning and Community <br />Development; Harvey Levine, Deputy City Attorney; <br />Don Sooby, Director of Engineering Services; Yvonne <br />McFadden, Recording Secretary <br />Council Members Present: Ken Mercer, Liaison; Frank Brandes <br />APPROVAL OF MINUTES <br />The minutes of the December 14, 1977, meeting were approved as submitted. <br />REVISIONS AND OMISSIONS TO THE AGENDA <br />Secretary Harris requested the following revisions to the agenda: <br />Item 5b, RZ-77-16, Rezone 13.6 acres on Stanley Blvd., continue to February 8, <br />1978. <br />Item 5c, UP-77-14, Dept. of Motor Vehicles, continue to April 12, 1978. <br />Item 5d, RZ-77-12, Scenic Highways Ordinance, continue to March 8, 1978. <br />OLD BUSINESS <br />PUD-77-7, Robert J. Myers <br />Review of an environmental impact report for a 12.7 acre site located south <br />of the terminus of Las Lomitas Drive and east of Pleasanton School to be <br />developed as a 119-unit limited care retirement facility. <br />Application for a planned unit development to rezone a 12.7 acre site <br />located immediately south of the terminus of Las Lomitas Drive and east of <br />Pleasanton School from the A (Agricultural) District to the PUD (Planned <br />Unit Development Medium Density Residential) District and to approve a <br />development plan for the site consisting of a 119-unit limited care retire- <br />ment facility. <br />Secretary Harris described the project. Staff has no objection to the <br />architecture. Staff is concerned with the grading and traffic circulation. <br />The units would comprise one and two bedroom efficiency units, ranging in <br />size from 550 sq. ft. to 950 sq. ft. Services offered would be similar <br />to a "limited care facility," such as meals, housekeeping services, <br />recreational and counseling services. Approximately 16 persons would be <br />employed at the facility, with 10 on the maximum shift. <br />
