3
TH~CITY OAF
~®'~~"' "' -~' "" CITY COUNCIL AGENDA REPORT
j'L~E~S~4NTON®
April 3, 2007
City Manager
TITLE: APPOINTMENT OF VOTING DELEGATE TO THE ASSOCIATION OF
BAY AREA GOVERNMENT'S SPRING GENERAL ASSEMBLY
SUMMARY
This item is placed on the agenda by the City Manager at the request of the Association
of Bay Area Governments (ABAG).
ABAG will hold its Spring General Assembly in San Francisco on April 19, 2007. In
conjunction with the General Assembly, ABAG will conduct its Annual Business Meeting
at which various matters are voted upon by the membership. ABAG requests that, in
advance of the General Assembly, each City designate a voting delegate to cast the
City's votes. An alternate voting delegate is named in the event the voting delegate is
unavailable to vote.
The current Council ABAG representatives are Councilmember Cheryl Cook-Kallio,
member, and Councilmember Matt Sullivan, alternate. Consistent with past practice,
they would serve as the voting delegate and voting alternate, respectively. However,
Councilmember Cook-Kallio is unable to attend on this date; Councilmember Sullivan
will attend and represent Pleasanton as the voting delegate. As no other member of
the Council will attend, no voting alternate will be named by Pleasanton.
RECOMMENDATION
Staff recommends that Council designate Councilmember Matt Sullivan as the voting
delegate to the Association of Bay Area Government's Spring General Assembly on
April 19, 2007.
FINANCIAL STATEMENT
None.
Approved by,
Nelson Fialho
City Manager
