THE CITY OF 21 <br />- ==~ "' CITY COUNCIL AGENDA REPORT <br />~'L~~1S~4NTONo <br />February 6, 2007 <br />Economic Development <br />TITLE: Review and consider draft Economic Development Strategic Plan <br />SUMMARY <br />The Economic Vitality Committee (EVC) has been working with staff and consultant Bay <br />Area Economics (BAE) to revise the City's 2003/04-2004/05 Economic Vitality Strategic <br />Plan; the final draft plan is attached. The recommended goals, policies and strategies <br />contained in the strategic plan were developed with the EVC and reflect the members' <br />collective perspectives as representatives of Pleasanton's business and community <br />sectors. <br />The final draft strategic plan is being presented to the City Council for consideration and <br />approval. Based on discussion at a joint City Council-Economic Vitality Committee <br />workshop in February 2006, the draft strategic plan was reviewed and amended by the <br />EVC. <br />Updating the City's Economic Development Strategic Plan is a priority project included <br />in the City Council's current work plan. <br />ECONOMIC VITALITY COMMITTEE RECOMMENDATION <br />The Economic Vitality Committee recommends that the City Council review and adopt <br />the final draft Economic Development Strategic Plan. <br />RECOMMENDATION <br />Review and adopt the final draft Economic Development Strategic Plan. <br />FINANCIAL STATEMENT <br />There is no fiscal impact. <br />
