9 <br />THE CITY OF <br />CITY COUNCIL AGENDA REPORT <br />PL£~S~4NTON. <br />February 6, 2007 <br />Parks and Community Services <br />TITLE: APPROVAL OF A CONSULTANT AGREEMENT WITH TANAKA DESIGN <br />GROUP, INC. IN THE AMOUNT OF $50,000, FOR PROFESSIONAL <br />SERVICES, WEST LAS POSITAS BOULEVARD MEDIAN ISLAND <br />LANDSCAPE DESIGN <br />SUMMARY <br />Staff is recommending the firm of Tanaka Design Group of San Francisco for the <br />preparation of schematic design and construction documents for the renovation of <br />landscaping and irrigation systems in the roadway median islands on West Las Positas <br />Boulevard, from Santa Rita Road to Boardwalk Street. The proposed contract cost for <br />all related design work is not-to-exceed $50,000. <br />RECOMMENDATION <br />Approve a Professional Services Contract with Tanaka Design Group, Inc., to <br />provide design services for the subject project. <br />2. Authorize the City Manager to execute the attached agreement. <br />FINANCIAL STATEMENT <br />The cost for this proposed work is for the not-to-exceed amount of $50,000. Funding for <br />this project is available and budgeted in the Park Renovation Fund. The proposed <br />landscape architectural design work would address improvements to the planting and <br />irrigation systems for median islands on West Las Positas Boulevard, and likely result in <br />decreased maintenance and repair costs for the Parks Maintenance Division. <br />
