PC-2006-10 <br />RESOLUTION RECOMMENDING APPROVAL OF THE APPLICATION OF TIIE <br />CI I'Y OF PLEASANTON TO AMEND SECTTONS OP CHAPTER. 1 7.50 (COMMERCIAL <br />AND CIVIC GREEN BU1LDiNG ORDINANCE) OF TI7E PL.EASAN"1'ON MUNICIYAI. <br />CODE, AS PILED iJNDER CASE PRZ-13 <br />WHEREAS, the City of Pleasanton has t31ed an application to amend sections of Chapter 7 7.50 <br />(Cone nzercial and Civic Green Building Ordinanec~ of the Pleas ai~ton Municipal <br />Code to allow incorporate green building xr~casures for new residential <br />development proj ccts; and <br />WHEREAS, at its duly noticed public hearing of March 8, 2006, the Planning Commission <br />considered all public testimony, relevant exhibits, and recommendations oi'thc <br />City staff concerning the ax-nendment of the Municipal Code; and <br />WHEREAS, prgjccts of this nature arc categorically exempt from the requirements of the <br />California b~nvironmental C~uality Act ~CEQA~; and <br />WI-IFRF_AS, the Planning Commission determined that the proposed amendment, when <br />implemented, would provide long-term benefits not only to occupants of <br />residential developments but also to the coxnnZUnity and would promote more <br />eti3ci.ent use of our natural resources, the use of environmentally responsible, <br />non-polluting materials, increased energy efficiency and maintenance, and. <br />improved. indoor air quality and overall health- <br />NUW, "THEREFORE, "THE PLANNING COMM7SSiON OF "I7-lE CITY OF PLEASANTON <br />RESOLVES "THE FOLLOWING: <br />Section 1 . Recommends approval of Case PRZ-13, the application of the City of Pleasanton <br />to amend sections of Chapter 1 7.50 Commercial and Civic ~ireen Building <br />Ordinance) of the Pleasanton Municipal Code to incorporate green building <br />measures for new residential development projects, as shown on Exhibit A, <br />attached hereto and made part of this case by reference- <br />Section 2. This resolution shall become effective ixzxn-xediately upon its passage and <br />adoption. <br />
