CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PLEASANTON <br /> <br /> ALAMEDA COUNTY, CALIFORNIA <br /> <br /> RESOLUTION NO. 92-12 <br /> <br /> RESOLUTION APPROVING THE PRELIMINARY PROPOSAL <br /> TO EXTEND THE NilaS CANYON RAILWAY (STEAM <br /> TOURIST RAILROAD OPERATED BY THE PACIFIC <br /> LOCOMOTIVE ASSOCIATION) FROM NilaS CANYON <br /> ALONG THE FORMRR SOUTHERN PACIFIC RAILROAD <br /> RIGHT-OF-WAY INTO DOWNTOWN PT~ASANTON <br /> <br />WHEREAS, at its meeting of January 7, 1992, the City Council <br /> reviewed the report of the Director of Planning and <br /> Community Development (SR 92:07) regarding the proposal <br /> of Ed Churka to extend the Niles Canyon Railway (steam <br /> tourist railroad operated by the Pacific Locomotive <br /> Association) from Niles Canyon along the former Southern <br /> Pacific Railroad right-of-way into Downtown Pleasanton; <br /> and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, a duly noticed public hearing was held at which time any <br /> member of the public was afforded the opportunity to <br /> address the City Council on this proposal; <br /> <br />NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PLEASANTON RESOLVES <br />AS FOLLOWS: <br /> <br />Section 1: The City Council approves the preliminary proposal <br /> by Ed Churka to extend the Niles Canyon Railway (steam <br /> tourist railroad operated by the Pacific Locomotive <br /> Association) from Niles Canyon along the former Southern <br /> Pacific Railroad right-of-way into Downtown Pleasanton. <br /> <br />Section 2: This resolution shall become effective immediately <br /> upon its passage and adoption. <br /> <br /> I HEREBY CERTIFY THAT THE FOREGOING WAS DULY AND <br />REGULARLY ADOPTED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PLEASANTON, AT <br />A MEETING HELD ON JANUARY 7, 1992 BY THE FOLLOWING VOTE: <br /> <br />AYES: Councilmembers - Butler, Mohr, Scribner, Tarver, and <br /> Mayor Mercer <br />NOES: None <br />ABSENT: None <br />ABSTAIN: None <br /> <br />APPROVED AS T;~ <br />Michael H.
