CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PLEASANTON <br /> <br /> ALAMEDA COUNTY, CALIFORNIA <br /> <br /> RESOLUTION NO. 94-25 <br /> <br /> RESOLUTION ENDORSING THE CALIFORNIANS FOR <br /> PARKS AND WILDL~E BOND ACT OF 1994 <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Pleasanton finds that providing park and <br /> recreation services is of vital environmental, social and economic interest to the <br /> citizens of our community; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, a coalition of community and conservation groups, business and labor, historic <br /> preservation and other organizations have undertaken a volunteer, community <br /> based effort to place a park, recreation and wildlife General Obligation Bond Act <br /> on the June 1994 ballot; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the bond act will provide needed facilities for the enhancement of our community, <br /> including urban forestry, park and recreation facilities, historic preservation, and <br /> a wide variety of other programs; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, CALPAW '94 includes funding for at-risk youth facilities in order to reduce <br /> crime, drag activity, and gang violence in our community; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the City of Pleasanton will receive an estimated $210,130 for development of <br /> park and recreation facilities if CALPAW '94 is approved by the voters; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the following specific projects benefiting our community are included in <br /> CALPAW '94: Expansion of Pleasariton Ridge Regional Park, Expansion of the <br /> Bay Area National Ridge Trail, and Acquisition of Trail Corridor to the Ridge <br /> Trail; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, thousands of jobs will be created with passage of this bond; <br /> <br /> NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PLEASANTON RESOLVES <br /> AS FOLLOWS: <br /> <br /> SectiOn 1: The City Council endorses the CALPAW '94 initiative and also endorses the <br /> specific proposition that contains the measure as it will appear on the June 1994 <br /> ballot. <br /> <br /> <br />
