~,~,,.~ CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PLEASANTON <br /> ALAMEDA COUNTY, CALIFORNIA <br /> <br /> RESOLUTION NO. 98-17 <br /> <br /> RESOLUTION SUSPENDING THE CERTIFICATE OF <br /> PUBLIC CONVENIENCE AND NECESSITY FOR THE <br /> PLEASANTON CITY CAB COMPANY <br /> <br />WHEREAS, on January 20, 1996, a Certificate of Public Convenience and Necessity was <br /> issued to Dean Nadem, owner of the Pleasanton City Cab Company; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the Pleasanton Police Department found that the Pleasanton City Cab Company <br /> had violated numerous provisions of Chapter 6.40 of the Pleasanton Municipal <br /> Code; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the Pleasanton City Cab Company was asked to resolve these issues but has failed <br /> to do so; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, at its meeting of March 3, 1998, the City Council received a report from the Police <br /> Department (SR 98:46) recommending suspension of the company's Certificate of <br /> Public Convenience and Necessity; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, no one from the Pleasanton City Cab Company appeared at the hearing or <br /> submitted any information in writing as to why the Certificate should not be <br /> suspended. <br /> <br />NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PLEASANTON RESOLVES <br />AS FOLLOWS: <br /> <br />Section 1: The City Council hereby suspends the Certificate of Public Convenience and <br /> Necessity for Pleasanton City Cab Company and the operation of any taxicab or <br /> taxicabs covered by such Certificate shall immediately cease and be unlawful.. <br /> <br />Section 2: This resolution shall become effective immediately upon its passage and adoption. <br /> <br /> I HEREBY CERTIFY THAT THE FOREGOING WAS DULY AND <br />REGULARLY ADOPTED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PLEASANTON, AT <br />A MEETING HELD ON MARCH 3, 998 BY THE FOLLOWING VOTE: <br /> <br /> <br />
