CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PLEASANTON <br /> <br /> ALAMEDA COUNTY, CALIFORNIA <br /> <br /> RESOLUTION NO. 98-07 <br /> <br /> RESOLUTION SUPPORTING LAVWMA PROPOSAL FOR <br /> PIPELINE ANALYSIS AND EVALUATION OF RELINING <br /> ALTERNATIVES AND CONSTRUCTABILITY PRIOR TO <br /> PROCEEDING WITH DESIGN WORK <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the proposed Livemore Amador Valley Water Management Agency (LAVWMA) <br /> wastewater disposal expansion project currently under consideration includes a <br /> new 21 mgd pipeline, and rehabilitation of the existing 21 mgd pipeline through <br /> relining; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, LAVWMA staff has expressed concem that more work is needed to determine <br /> whether relining of the existing pipe is possible or practical; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, if relining were determined to be impractical, the scope of the proposed <br /> LAVWMA expansion project could change substantially and because of this <br /> uncertainty, it is desirable to perform the necessary work to confirm the potential <br /> of relining as part of other pre-project approval activities; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, at its meeting of February 3, 1998, the City Council received the report of the <br /> Director of Public Works (SR 98:37) regarding the LAVWMA proposal to <br /> evaluate pipeline relining; <br /> <br />NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PLEASANTON RESOLVES <br />AS FOLLOWS: <br /> <br />Section 1: The Pleasanton City Council supports the LAVWMA Board's determination to <br /> proceed with Carollo Engineers Task Order No. 16, but requests that LAVWMA <br /> consider proceeding initially only with an analysis and evaluation of relining <br /> alternatives and constructability before proceeding with actual design work; <br /> Council urges LAVWMA not to proceed with any actual relining work until an <br /> agreement with EBDA is obtained. <br /> <br />Section 2: This resolution shall become effective immediately upon its passage and adoption. <br /> <br /> <br />
