FOR SIGN DESIGN REVIEW APPROVAL <br />FOR TRADER JOE'S PLAZA., AS PILED UNDER CASE PSDR-223 <br />WHEREAS, Edward Artinger/Continental Signs Inc., has applied £or sign design <br />review approval to a 30-£ooi tall pylon sign along Pimlico Drive For the <br />`°['rader Joe's Ylaza located at 4040 Pimlico Drive; and <br />WHEREAS, at its duly noticed public hearing o£May 11, 2005, the Planning <br />Commission considered all public testimony, relevant exhibits, and <br />recommendations o£ the City sta££ concerning this applicati ot~, and <br />WHEREAS, projects o£this nature are categorically exempt from the requirements o£ <br />the Cali£ornia Environmental Quality Act ~CEQA~. <br />WI-IF,REAS, the Planning Commission determined that the 30-foot tall pylon sign is not <br />consistent with the intent o£thc Pleasanton Municipal Code and the City <br />policy related to location criteria for pylon signs, dots not meet the <br />signage design standards £or commercial districts, and is incompatible <br />with the surrounding area. <br />NOW., THEREFORE, THE PLANNING COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF <br />PLEASANTON RESOLVES THE FOLLOWING: <br />Section 1. Denies Case PSDR-223, the application o£ Edward Artinger/Continental <br />Signs Inc- £or sign design review approval to a 30-Moot tall pylon sign <br />along Pimlico Drive for the "`t'rader Joe's Plaza located at 4040 Pixrxlico <br />Drive ~3 rxd cnco urages the applicant to work with City staf t-tc> develop ~xn <br />appropri etc iT On un-. carat sign- <br />Section 2.
