CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PLEASANTON ALAMEDA COUNTY, CALIFORNIA ORDINANCE NO. 1821 AN ORDINANCE AMENDING CHAPTERS 18.44, 18.48, AND 18.84 OF THE PLEASANTON MUNICIPAL CODE, REGARDING COMMERCIAL RADIO AND TELEVISION ANTENNAS, AS FILED UNDER CASE PRZ-05 WHEREAS, at its meeting of December 5, 2000, the City Council reviewed the report of the Director of Planning and Community Development (SR 00:311) regarding amendments to Chapter 18.44 (Commercial District) and Chapter 18.48 (Industrial District) of the Pleasanton Municipal Code to permit with City approval commercial radio and television aerials, antennas, and transmission towers; to include the requirement that these facilities are to be setback 300 feet from residences, schools, parks, and similar uses; to include design criteria that would minimize the visibility of these facilities from view; and to amend Section 18.84.150 (Height Limits - Exceptions) of the Pleasanton Municipal Code to delete the requirement that commercial radio and television aerials, antennas, and transmission towers be setback 1,000 feet from the 1-580 and 1-680 freeway rights-of-way. THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PLEASANTON DOES HEREBY ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS: Section 1: Chapters 18.44, 18.48, and 18.84 of the Pleasanton Municipal Code are mended to reed as set forth in Exhibit "A", attached hereto and incorporated herein by this reference. Section 2: A summary of this ordinance shall be published once within fifteen (15) days after its adoption in "The Valley Times," a newspaper of general circulation published in the City of Pleasanton, and the complete ordinance shall be posted for fifteen (15) days in the City Clerk's office within fifteen (15) days after its adoption. Section 3: This ordinance shall be effective thirty (30) days after the date of its final passage and adoption.
