CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY Of PLEASANTON <br /> <br /> ALAMEDA COUNTY, ALAMEDA <br /> <br /> ORDINANCE NO. 1916 <br /> <br /> AN ORDINANCE TO AMEND SECTION 3.32.010 OF THE PLEASANTON <br /> MUNICIPAL CODE REGARDING ALTERNATIVE BIDDING PROCEDURES UNDER <br /> THE UNIFORM PUBLIC CONSTRUCTION COST ACCOUNTING ACT <br /> <br />WHEREAS, pursuant to Ordinance No. 1523, the City adopted contracting procedures <br /> for public works contracts consistent with the alternative bidding <br /> procedures under the statewide Uniform Public Construction Cost <br /> Accounting Act (Cal. Pub. Contract Code sections 22030 et seq.; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, in 2001, the California Legislature increased the threshold for formal <br /> bidding procedures for public works contracts from $75,000 to $100,000 <br /> under the Uniform Public Construction Cost Accounting Act; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the City Council likewise desires to increase the threshold for formal <br /> bidding procedures for public works contracts from $75,000 to $100,000 by <br /> amending the Pleasanton Municipal Code. <br /> <br />THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PLEASANTON DOES HEREBY ORDAIN AS <br />FOLLOWS: <br /> <br />Section 1: Section 3.32.010 of the Pleasanton Municipal Code, "Contracting <br /> Procedures for Public Projects," is hereby amended to read as follows: <br /> <br /> A. Public projects of twenty five thousand dollars ($25,000.00) or less may be <br /> performed by the employees of the City by force account, by negotiated <br /> contract or by purchase order. <br /> <br /> B. Public projects of one hundred thousand dollars ($100,000.00) or less may <br /> be let to contract by informal procedures as set forth in section 22032 et <br /> seq., of the Public Contract Code. <br /> <br /> C. Public projects of more than one hundred thousand dollars ($100,000.00) <br /> shall, except as otherwise set forth in section 22032 et seq., of the Public <br /> Contract Code, be let to contract by formal bidding procedure.
