CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY Of PLEASANTON ALAMEDA COUNTY, ALAMEDA ORDINANCE NO. 1916 AN ORDINANCE TO AMEND SECTION 3.32.010 OF THE PLEASANTON MUNICIPAL CODE REGARDING ALTERNATIVE BIDDING PROCEDURES UNDER THE UNIFORM PUBLIC CONSTRUCTION COST ACCOUNTING ACT WHEREAS, pursuant to Ordinance No. 1523, the City adopted contracting procedures for public works contracts consistent with the alternative bidding procedures under the statewide Uniform Public Construction Cost Accounting Act (Cal. Pub. Contract Code sections 22030 et seq.; and WHEREAS, in 2001, the California Legislature increased the threshold for formal bidding procedures for public works contracts from $75,000 to $100,000 under the Uniform Public Construction Cost Accounting Act; and WHEREAS, the City Council likewise desires to increase the threshold for formal bidding procedures for public works contracts from $75,000 to $100,000 by amending the Pleasanton Municipal Code. THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PLEASANTON DOES HEREBY ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS: Section 1: Section 3.32.010 of the Pleasanton Municipal Code, "Contracting Procedures for Public Projects," is hereby amended to read as follows: A. Public projects of twenty five thousand dollars ($25,000.00) or less may be performed by the employees of the City by force account, by negotiated contract or by purchase order. B. Public projects of one hundred thousand dollars ($100,000.00) or less may be let to contract by informal procedures as set forth in section 22032 et seq., of the Public Contract Code. C. Public projects of more than one hundred thousand dollars ($100,000.00) shall, except as otherwise set forth in section 22032 et seq., of the Public Contract Code, be let to contract by formal bidding procedure.
