<br />PLANNING COMMISSION CITY OF PLEASANTON <br /> <br />ALAMEDA COUNTY, CALIFORNIA <br /> <br />RESOLUTION NO. PC-95-14 <br /> <br />RESOLUTION RECOMMENDING APPROVAL OF CASE RZ-95-01, THE <br />APPLICATION OF THE CITY OF PLEASANTON TO AMEND THE PLEASANTON <br />MUNICIPAL CODE TO ADDRESS PRUNING OF HERITAGE TREES AND <br />RELATED ISSUES PERTAINING TO TREE PRESERVATION <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the City of Pleasanton has applied to amend Chapter 17.16 <br />of the Pleasanton Municipal Code (Tree Preservation <br />Ordinance) to address pruning of Heritage trees and <br />related issues pertaining to tree preservation; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, at their duly noticed public hearing of February 22, <br />1995, the Planning Commission considered all public <br />testimony, relevant exhibits, and recommendations of the <br />City staff concerning this application; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, projects of this nature are categorically exempt from the <br />requirements of the California Environmental Quality Act; <br />and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the Planning Commission determined that the proposed <br />Changes to the Tree Preservation Ordinance address recent <br />concerns regarding the improper pruning of Heritage trees <br />and protect existing Heritage trees in new development <br />projects. <br /> <br />NOW, THEREFORE, THE PLANNING COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF PLEASANTON <br />RESOLVES THE FOLLOWING: <br /> <br />Section 1. Recommends approval of Case RZ-95-01, the application <br />of the City of Pleasanton to amend Chapter 17.16 of the <br />Pleasanton Municipal Code (Tree Preservation Ordinance) <br />to address pruning of Heritage trees and related issues <br />pertaining to tree preservation, as shown on Exhibit "A," <br />attached hereto and made part of this case by reference. <br /> <br />Section 2.
