THE CITY OF <br /> <br />fSLEASANTON: <br /> <br />4M <br /> <br />City Council <br />Staff Report <br /> <br /> January 4, 2005 <br />Public Works Department <br /> <br />SUBJECT: ACCEPTANCE OF ANNUAL WATER & SEWER REPLACEMENT <br /> PROJECTS (PROJECT NO. 001000 FOR WATER AND PROJECT NO. <br /> 022002 FOR SEWER) <br /> <br />STAFF RECOMMENDATION: <br /> <br /> Staff recommends that the City Council take the following action at the <br /> meeting of January 4, 2005: <br /> <br /> 1. Accept the improvements for the subject project. <br /> <br /> 2. Authorize the City Clerk to file a Notice of Completion for the <br /> subject project. <br /> <br /> 3. Authorize fmal payment of $163.12 to McNamara & Smallman and <br /> payment of the retention in the amount of $46,880.19 to <br /> McNamara & Smallman Construction, Inc. thirty days after filing <br /> the Notice of Completion. <br /> <br />SUMMARY: Construction of the subject project is complete and is ready for <br /> acceptance. <br /> <br />Honorable Mayor and Members of the City Council: <br /> <br />BACKGROUND <br /> <br />On April 6, 2004 the City Council awarded a construction contract for the subject project to <br />the lowest bidder, McNamara & Smallman Construction, Inc. in the amount of $884,825.
