SUPPLEMENTAL MATERIAL <br />1 <br /> <br />Responses to City Council Agenda Items – December 3, 2024 <br />Agenda Item #4 (Application for the California Senate District 7 Accessory Dwelling Unit <br />Accelerator Grant funding) <br />1. What happens to the ADU money if it’s not all used by September 2026? <br /> <br />A. Per the program guidelines, any unused funds at the end of the period would <br />be returned to the Fiduciary (Town of Danville) who in turn would be required <br />to remit them back to the State. There is an opportunity for the City to <br />request additional funds during the course of the program, if we have <br />successfully disbursed our entire allocation and there are funds remaining <br />unencumbered in the overall program. <br /> <br />Agenda Item #8 (Second amendment to agreement with Black Tie Transportation) <br />2. Why do we need a contingency? What would the contingency be used for? <br />A. The contingency was put into place as a standard practice for a new contract <br />when we first outsourced paratransit to Black Tie. The original contract <br />language outlines what the contingency would be used for. <br /> <br />Refer to page 5 of the December 1, 2020 City Council agenda report for more <br />details on the operator agreement with Black Tie Transportation. <br />3. Have we used the contingency in the past? If so, what was it used for? <br /> <br />A. Yes, we have used contingency funds. $2,164 in FY 21 for vehicle repairs; <br />$4,172.50 in FY 2024 for an electric vehicle charging station to support the <br />new electric paratransit van; and $7,100 in FY 25 for a vehicle wrap for the <br />new electric van. <br /> <br />Refer to page 2 of the February 7, 2023 City Council agenda report regarding <br />the purchase of the electric van for the paratransit program. <br /> <br /> <br />Agenda Item #12 (Police Department Biannual Update) <br /> <br />4. Is any work is being done to interface our ARU with the new Alameda County <br />Care Court system? <br /> <br />A. Yes, CARE Court started in Alameda County, today, December 2. It is a civil <br />court process aimed at connecting individuals suffering from specific mental <br />health diagnoses and substance use disorders with support services. The <br />process allows for family members, first responders and health care <br />professionals to petition the CARE Court on behalf of the individual. This can
