4 <br /> THE CITY OF <br /> ).zzcim <br /> 17° CITY COUNCIL AGENDA REPORT <br /> pL£ASANTON_ <br /> June 6, 2023 <br /> Community Development <br /> Traffic Engineering Division <br /> TITLE: ADOPT A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING AN APPLICATION WITH THE <br /> METROPOLITAN TRANSPORTATION COMMISSION FOR ALLOCATION <br /> OF $493,513 IN TRANSPORTATION DEVELOPMENT ACT ARTICLE 3 <br /> FUNDS FOR THE ANNUAL BICYCLE AND PEDESTRIAN RELATED <br /> IMPROVEMENTS AT VARIOUS LOCATIONS PROJECT AND APPROVE <br /> BUDGET AMENDMENT IN THE TDA GRANT FUND <br /> SUMMARY <br /> The Metropolitan Transportation Commission (MTC) provides annual funding through <br /> Transportation Development Act (TDA) Article 3 for bicycle and pedestrian <br /> improvements. The City is requesting the allocation of the TDA Article 3 funds for the <br /> Annual Bicycle and Pedestrian Related Improvements at Various Locations project. <br /> Additionally, the previous allocation of$190,000 in TDA Article 3 funds from the 1-580 <br /> Bicycle and Pedestrian Overcrossing Improvements project (CIP No. 22570) which was <br /> unspent and rescinded, must be removed from the budget in CIP No. 22570. This <br /> $190,000 will be included as part of the current requested allocation to the Annual <br /> Bicycle and Pedestrian Related Improvements at Various Locations project. <br /> RECOMMENDATION <br /> Staff recommends the City Council: <br /> 1. Amend the FY 2022/23 Budget Appropriation for the TDA Grant Fund by <br /> decreasing the 1-580 Bicycle and Pedestrian Overcrossing Improvements project <br /> (CIP No. 22570) by $190,000; <br /> 2. Adopt a resolution authorizing an application with the Metropolitan Transportation <br /> Commission for $493,513 in TDA Article 3 funds. This funding amount includes <br /> $303,513 in previously unrequested funding and $190,000 in funding previously <br /> allocated to CIP No. 22570; and <br /> 3. Authorize the City Manager to appropriate $493,513 in TDA Article 3 funds to the <br /> Annual Bicycle and Pedestrian Related Improvements at Various Locations <br /> project, when the City is awarded requested funds in FY 2023/24. <br /> FINANCIAL STATEMENT <br /> There is no additional financial impact associated with the adoption of the resolution <br /> authorizing an application with MTC for TDA Article 3 funds. The TDA Article 3 funding <br /> is an annual funding amount which has been programmed into the upcoming four-year <br /> CIP under the Annual Bicycle and Pedestrian Related Improvements at Various <br /> Page 1 of 3 <br />
