The framework includes guiding principles, goals, and strategies <br /> that guide advocacy efforts on behalf of the City's interests. Within this framework, <br /> annual focus areas are established to guide the City's legislative positions. <br /> The City Council Legislative Subcommittee (Arkin/Testa) met on April 7, 2023, to review <br /> and discuss the City's Legislative Framework with the 2023 Focus Areas, and to <br /> discuss selected 2023 bills and consider recommending positions on these bills. <br /> RECOMMENDATION <br /> The City Council Legislative Subcommittee and staff recommend adoption of the City's <br /> Legislative Framework with the 2023 Focus Areas and to establish the City's legislative <br /> positions on selected 2023 bills, and request that staff monitor remaining legislation <br /> throughout the 2023 legislative session. <br /> FINANCIAL STATEMENT <br /> There is no direct financial impact. <br />
