CITY OF PLEASANTON <br /> CITY COUNCIL MEETING MINUTES <br /> March 15, 2022 <br /> This meeting was conducted in accordance with Governor Newsom's <br /> Executive Order N-29-20 and AB 361 COVID-19 pandemic protocols. <br /> REGULAR MEETING <br /> Mayor Brown called the meeting of the City Council to order at the hour of 7:00 p.m. Councilmember <br /> Balch led the Pledge of Allegiance and provided opening remarks. <br /> ROLL CALL <br /> Present: Councilmembers Arkin, Balch, Narum, Testa, Mayor Brown <br /> Absent: None <br /> AGENDA AMENDMENTS <br /> Interim City Manager Brian Dolan continued item 9. <br /> Councilmember Balch pulled item 13 for presentation. <br /> CONSENT CALENDAR <br /> In response to Councilmember Balch, City Attorney Dan Sodergren confirmed Councilmember Balch's <br /> prior "no" vote on Item 2 will be transferred to the second reading even if he votes to approve the <br /> balance of the Consent Calendar. <br /> In response to Mayor Brown on item 7, Deputy City Manager Pamela Ott reported plastic sheeting is <br /> not specifically included or excluded but advised the City Council can add direction. Mayor Brown <br /> requested permanent materials be used in the temporary downtown pop-ups. The City Council agreed <br /> with this direction. <br /> In response to Mayor Brown on item 16, Deputy City Manager Ott stated the June 4th Dash for Cash is <br /> a bicycle racing event. She advised it is in a business park on the weekend when there are very few <br /> people around. <br /> In response to Councilmember Arkin on item 16, Deputy City Manager Ott clarified the Antiques Fair is <br /> an event usually presented by the Pleasanton Downtown Association (PDA) and is not scheduled to <br /> return in 2022. <br /> Mayor Brown opened the public hearing. <br /> Darryl Smith stated he is one of the Dash for Cash's organizers. He reported it is a cycling race <br /> happening for about 20 years where money is donated for every lap completed. <br /> Mayor Brown closed the public hearing. <br /> Councilmember Narum moved to approve the Consent Calendar, with an amendment to not allow <br /> plastic sheeting in item 7. Councilmember Testa seconded the motion. <br />
