THE CITY OF 111 <br />CITY COUNCIL AGENDA REPORT <br />PLEASANTON. <br />12 <br />May 17, 2022 <br />Engineering <br />TITLE: ACCEPT PUBLIC IMPROVEMENTS PERFORMED BY WESTCAL DESIGN <br />AND BUILD, INC. FOR THE LIFT STATIONS 7 AND 8 VENTILATION AND <br />LIGHTING IMPROVEMENTS PROJECT, CIP NO. 21267 <br />SUMMARY <br />The project consisted of replacement of the ventilation systems, replacement of the wet <br />well lighting and replacement of air monitoring equipment necessary for personnel <br />access in sewer lift stations 7 and 8. The project also included Supervisory Control and <br />Data Acquisition (SCADA) at both sewer lift stations. City Council awarded the <br />$1,020,000 contract to WestCal Design and Build, Inc. (WestCal) on March 2, 2021. <br />Construction of the project is now complete, and staff recommends that City Council <br />accept the work and authorize the City Clerk to file a Notice of Completion. <br />RECOMMENDATION <br />1. Accept the project as complete and authorize the City Clerk to file a Notice of <br />Completion. <br />2. Authorize release of the retention in the amount of $53,384.61 to WestCal Design <br />and Build, Inc. 30 days after recordation of the Notice of Completion. <br />3. Authorize the return of the project's remaining amount of $141,330 to the originating <br />Sewer Replacement fund balance (Fund 431). <br />FINANCIAL STATEMENT <br />Funding for this project totaled $1,332,919 as outlined in Attachment 1. The <br />expenditures total $1,191,589, leaving an unused balance of $141,330. Staff <br />recommends returning the project's remaining amount to the Sewer Replacement fund <br />balance (Fund 431). <br />
