AGREEMENT AMONG THE COUNTY OF ALAMEDA AND THE CITIES OF DUBLI3NI, LIVERMORE AND PLEASANTON FOR THE MAINTENANCE AND OPERATION OF THE EAST COUNTY ANIMAL SHELTER This AGREEMENT is entered into by and among the County of Alameda (hereinafter referred to as "COUNTY") and the dries of Dublin, Livermore, and Pleasanton (hereinafter referred to as "CITII~") and shall be effective as of January 2, 1996. This AGREE1VIE1NIT is entered into in consideration of the following matters: WHEREAS, the COUNTY and the CITIES have determined that the construction of a new animal sheller is necessary to provide service to the CITIES and unincorporated COUNTY area; and WHEREAS, the COUN2~ and the CITIES entered into an AGREEMENT dated September 15, 1992, regarding the cost sharing for the construction of a new animal shelter; and WHEREAS, the COUNTY and the CITIES (hereinafter referred to as '~ARTICIPATI1NIG ENTITIF-q") desire to enter into this AGREEMENT in order to set forth the governing of shelter operations and vo~irttenance including the method for sharing the cost of these services. NOW, THEREFORE, the PARTICIPATING ENTITLES agree as follows: P _~rpose of Aezeement The pARTICIPATING ENTITIES agree to enter into this AGI~R~MENT for the purpose of establishing the governance of the operations and ro~irttenance of the last County Animal Shelter (hereinafter referred to as '~3HELTER") including the method for sharing the cost of SHELTER services. o She!for Operations Advisory Committee For the purposes of this AGREEMENT, a Shelter Operations Advisory Committee (hereinafter referred to as "COMMITTEE") shall be formed and comprised of one representative from each of the pARTICIPATING ENTITIES. On an annual basis, ov-e of the members shall act as the chairperson for the COM1VII'I 11~ and shall serve as the iiai.~on with any contractor/agency providing services or affiliated with SHELTER.
