7 <br /> THE CITY OF <br /> 11.1 <br /> ' :••• CITY COUNCIL AGENDA REPORT <br /> pLEASANTONt <br /> June 16, 2020 <br /> Community Development <br /> Traffic Engineering <br /> TITLE: AMEND PROFESSIONAL SERVICES AGREEMENT WITH AECOM <br /> TECHNICAL SERVICES, INC., FOR A NEW TOTAL CONTRACT AMOUNT <br /> NOT TO EXCEED $1,721,824, FOR THE NEXT PHASE OF DESIGN FOR <br /> THE SUNOL INTERCHANGE IMPROVEMENT PROJECT, CIP NO. 15551 <br /> SUMMARY <br /> On April 19, 2018, the City of Pleasanton entered into a consultant contract with <br /> AECOM Technical Services, Inc. (AECOM) to prepare Project Initiation Documents <br /> (PID) for the I-680/Sunol Interchange Improvement project. In late January 2020, <br /> Caltrans approved the PID. The next phase of the process is Project Approval & <br /> Environmental Document (PA&ED). Staff is satisfied with AECOM's work on the PID <br /> and recommends an amendment to their consulting contract for PA&ED services. <br /> RECOMMENDATION <br /> 1. Approve the attached Amendment to the Design Professional Services Agreement <br /> (Attachment 1) between the City of Pleasanton and AECOM Technical Services, <br /> Inc., to include Project Approval & Environmental Document (PA&ED) services for a <br /> total contract amount of $1,721,824. <br /> 2. Authorize the City Manager to execute the Amendment to the Design Professional <br /> Services Agreement. <br /> FINANCIAL STATEMENT <br /> The City's Capital Improvement Program (CIP) includes a project to modify the I- <br /> 680/Sunol Boulevard Interchange (CIP No. 15551). This CIP is funded by Traffic Impact <br /> Fees, and has sufficient funding to cover this additional scope of work. The cost of the <br /> additional scope within this contract amendment is $1,232,566, increasing the total <br /> contract amount to $1,721,824. <br /> Staff consulted with Alameda County Transportation Commission (Alameda CTC) <br /> regarding AECOM's proposed cost for PA&ED services and the cost is in line with <br /> similar-sized PA&ED work completed for Alameda CTC. <br />
